Does a low number on a s/n poster add to the value?

I have a few s/n posters with very low numbers.

Does this add to the value?

Thanks in advance!

Some super purists may pay a little more. The thought is the screen begins to deteriorate over multiple printings, so earlier prints are sharper and more defined.  Will you ever even see a difference.....doubt it.  Some think the same on vinyl pressings.

AP's are many times test prints and extras saved past the edition run, so outside a different signature, no real difference either.   It is so they can sell them on their own with no middle man.  Much higher profit margin.
  • Yes.  Both artists and sellers charge more for significant numbers like 1 or 50 or the last one in the run.

I wouldn't pay extra for that so I'm not that target audience.  It's the same poster from the 1st to the last unless they have a mix in something then it might differ slightly but printing places are so good now they match up pretty damn good.

I got a 59 out of 60 les 'cesspool' poster duo de twang. Hot little thing by ruben rude. Worth the price of the paper. I kept going to the merch stand. Was gonna pass. Glad I got it. Fun to look at when I flip through the folio.

I think it can if it is the first or last print. It would depend on the buyer. A pearl jam or Eddie print that is 23/100 might fetch more given the connection to Eddie etc.

It really depends on the buyer in my opinion.  Also, it may if it is a small edition.  For example, 1 of 10.

Since most people, for whatever reason, list their numbered prints as XX/100, I would think that if you stated you had a unique number (1/100, 100/100, etc) you could get a little higher than the going price just because it would be different.

Doesn't the artist often keep #1 for themselves or special gift? Making it a lot harder to find one. Like weren't the first several # benny's for the band and gifts?

Artists do this and sell at higher prices knowing that people do pay more.

    Don't be that guy.

I have the Munk One Pitt #1/100 and Emek Chief #100/100. I was probably willing to pay a bit more for those than some random number in the middle of the range

I think it does. I have no idea why, I’ve always thought it was laughable, but to each their own. Only difference is the artist signed it first or last or whatever doesn’t mean it was first or last printed cause they’re not signing them as they leave the press.
