go to hyperrust.org and look at some neil young tabs there, he has some easy simple chord progression songs. you can try not for you, betterman(same chord progression the whole time basically), thin air, parting ways, release, hmm...theres plenty, check out giventowail.com (every pj fan/guitarist needs to know about this site) and there is a beginner guitarist section, lists songs and everything, very cool

that's actually a pretty good rule of thumb, now that you mention it.

i should add that in no way do i intend to detract from ed's songwriting by saying that.

where are there barre chords???? ive always thought barre chords were easy, if you are using barre chords for the intro, then your probably making it harder on yourself, i usually just use my first finger for the low e string and then my other fingers for the rest of the chord, so my middle and other finger, idk, the ring, index, whatever the fuck it is called, then you have the basic d, a, and g chords, shouldnt be too hard, just practice, you never get better playing easy ass songs that dont challenge you
  • Betterman
    Mankind
    In Hiding
    Alive
    Save You
    Hunger Strike
    Nothingman
    Lukin
    I Am Mine
    Parting Ways
    Sometimes
    Around the Bend
    Ghost
    Green Disease
    Once

That should get you started, lol ...
Makes much more sense to live in the Present Tense.

  • Try Black. That's the first PJ song I learned to play.
I need a fix 'cause I'm going down
Down to the bits that I left uptown
I need a fix cause I'm going down
  • december - collective soul, squeeze box - the who, she don't use jelly - flaming lips, long road - pearl jam, brain stew - green day...all very easy
I attack with love, pure bug beauty, curl my lips and crawl up to you.

  • Wishlist. If you can't pull that off, you might just as well quit right now. ;)
  • heres what i think, wow im so bored i will divide them into sections...

    very easy chord songs:
    -not for you
-lukin (all power chords and easy lead)
    -otherside
    -thin air
-daughter (dont b intimidated by the tuning)
    -oceans (i guess)
    -aye davinita
-tremor christ (jazz chords i believe)
-hail hail (when using power chords)
    -nothing as it seems
    -ghost
    -get right
    -i am mine

    other easy songs (once practiced)
-do the evolution (practice the main part for a while and its easy)
    -save you
    -sometimes
    -black
    -crazy mary
    -corduroy
    -betterman
    -leash
    -long road
    - i got shit
    -habit

those r just some off the top of my head

we got the needs to make amends
i am lost im no guide but im by your side
i am right by your side
drop the leash drop the least
get out of my fuckin face
  • Immortality is much easier to play than it sounds on record...
Low Light's fairly easy also.. if you can swing the wierd time sig
    umm..
The easist non-acoustic song I can think of is Habit... drop D tuning and one finger chords.
