Rome is definitely my favorite of the 2018 run, Ed sounds fantastic and the setlist is great.  Would love this on vinyl.

Agree. Would love Rome 2018 to get the vault treatment. (And Leeds 2014).

I'm in the release new things camp.  We get 1 vault a year, why use it up on something thats already out there in high quality?

Vault and vinyl are not synonymous. They are clearly leaving money on the table by not pressing more shows onto vinyl, because there is clear demand. But...the "Vault" series should be about shows that have not already been released.

That's true.   The solution be to do both.  Unreleased stuff for vaults, and maybe some highlight vinyls for the best show(s) on a tour.

Never understood why people want vinyls for anything from the bootleg era.  Keep the Vault series to stuff we haven’t had official copies of before.  If they don’t have full shows, do compilations from 1995, 1996, 1998.

Because some people are a fan of the format. I have the Leeds 2014 CD bootleg, but it would still make the top of my list for shows I would want to get the vault treatment.
  • live shows isn’t made for vinyl.

    Definitely.
  • I was at Rome 2018. it was far from good. eddie's voice was shot so they did a lot of covers that the other guys would sing. the crowd was absolutely horrible. i ended up leaving half way through because of it. worst pj experience ever.

Yeah, it would be great on vinyl. But a Vault release? Ah no.

Did they doctor up his voice on the bootleg?  I think he sounds great and the best of that 2018 tour.  I also think part of letting the other three guys sing was to just give them the opportunity to sing a song in such a beautiful and historic city.

How can you have "never understood" why someone would like to spin a vinyl copy of a show they love/think is great? Even if said show is from post 2000.

Odd. How would someone miss to understand that.

I do understand. The statement specifically says the “Vault” series. Release anything on vinyl but for vaults I always want something we haven’t already had access to a quality soundboard recording.

Easy - the sound quality on these records would be similar/hardly discernible to your CD copy or stream on Nugs.  Plus has the added inconvenience of having to flip sides.  On top of that, is a version of Corduroy on Rome 2018 much different than a version of Corduroy from any of the other 2018 shows?
I was at PJ20, Wrigley 2013, London 2013 and lose zero sleep over not having recording of any of these for the reasons I just stated - other than banter between songs the versions of songs from these shows will be similar to any other version from their given tour.
