Looks like is out in limited theaters for one night on November 8th and then on streaming services in February. I want to see this, but I’m probably going to have to wait until February.

Pretty solid documentary. Strokes/Ryan Adams "beef" was interesting and pretty sure that's what the song is about. Interpol part was also pretty interesting and how they weren't as huge as The Strokes and when they went to the UK no one really saw them or anything. Wasn't until napster came around when they got big.

  • I'll definitely have to check this out.  I tried reading the book of the same name but the oral history format was just brutal and so hard to follow.  I wish the author would have just told the story.

After watching this, the 2022 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductions, and this season of Austin City Limits...is this period at the turn of the millennium the last great Rock and Roll scene? It feels to me like Rock is at the lowest point I can remember. This year's HOF inductions felt like bands and artists that were overlooked when they were first eligible. There weren't any artists or bands inducted from the last 25 years. It kind of felt like they had to throw Eminem in there to get anybody in from that era.

I understand that music goes in cycles and there will be great Rock and Roll bands again, but it certainly seems there's not much happening right now.

We are in the 30 year swing of things where SOMETHING should be happening.  With he lack of producers making big songs and bands wanting to DIY you most likely won't get much though.

History shows that we should be seeing a renaissance, all the newer bands love listening to 90's music, so where is the movement?  Is DIY killing it?

Watched this. Some cool footage but more of a 90 minute montage than really telling a good story. Book did a much much better job.
