Man of the Hour was likely included due to its “recency” of release (2003->2004) and YLB is, well, YLB. Only a b-side but one of there most well known tunes.
As for the omission of LBC, I guess they kept the (at the time) two most recent albums relatively “light” as they weren’t as popular. Was LBC a single? If so, it didn’t get much radio play in my parts.
Summary of tunes… Ten Era - 8 (5+3) Vs - 6 Vitalogy - 6 No Code - 3 Yield - 3 Binaural - 2 Riot Act - 2 Other non-album tracks - 3
Man of the Hour was released as a single, LBC was not.

True. It's decent enough but I can think of at least a dozen or two songs from 1992-2003 that I'd rather see in a hits package - even though most wouldn't be considered "hits."
Just in case anyone was curious, I'll name some of them... Release, Porch, Indifference, Last Exit, Long Road, In My Tree, Present Tense, Brain of J, Faithfull, In Hiding, Of the Girl, Parting Ways... well, that's a dozen!
Can't Deny Me was also a single Edit: Olé, also a single. Doesn't mean they are greatest hits.
If it entered the charts then it was. It would make a greatest hits if they decided to do a volume 3. At least CDM would. I don't think Olè was a hit. And LBC while it was a single I don't think charted
There are a number of tracks on RVM that were not released as singles. That said, almost every song on there that was released as a single charted, except for "Man of the Hour", but I don't know if that's because it was only released through the website and Amazon?
Personally, I'd rather have LBC on there instead of Last Kiss, but as Last Kiss was their BIGGEST hit, I guess you can't ignore it.

Last Kiss is an interesting case. No one claims to love it but when they play it live, the entire arena is singing along. 😀
Not the entire arena. Partner and I were checking our phones in Toronto. Heard it once back in 2000 (I think?), and was happy to never hear it again. Got it in Toronto. With luck, I'll get to see another bunch of shows without seeing it again.

Would love a Lost Dogs 2 release. Just reissue Lost Dogs on vinyl then make this Volume 2 happen shortly after.
(I suppose one could argue that’s what LO2L and LOTL are).
