Matt Cameron with Foo Fighters - Low

  • Great intro by Dave linking JCP to Low. Won't be able to get that out of my head listening to either song for a while.

i was curious if anyone else noticed that as well.

i think grohl/hawkins were bigger fans of soundgarden than pearl jam. the beato interview was similar as soundgarden was pretty much the main focus and pj was just a passing comment.

i also had a wonder if matt c. would consider leaving pj for the foo fighters. both are big bands, but i think most would agree which is more relevant currently.
  • Matt is way more Soundgarden than PJ.

King Animal was really good.  Sucks we get no more SG.  I would think MC could play in both Foos and PJ.  Not like PJ records or plays live very often.

probably....I was actually a SG fan first. It wasn't until they broke up that I focused on PJ. I was a huge fan of Vitalogy/No Code/Yield but still considered SG and STP over PJ at that time.

But still....seems like a "of Soundgarden and Pearl Jam" would have flowed off the tongue nicely. Almost intentionally leaving out PJ in a sense.

Kim Thayil was there and they played a couple SG songs. PJ was not
  • Davd was also making the Soundgarden -> Foo Fighters connection

I would love to see him do a few dates with FF but I can't see him leaving PJ for them.  And he would be crazy to do so.  For one, after 20+ years in PJ, I think he would grow tired of playing the same setlist night after night.

I don’t see Matt Cameron goofing off in music videos.

(Why are people even discussing it like it is a possibility. lol)

how are you so sure it's not?

both grohl and hawkins were/are big fan of matt's drumming. the ff's are going to go on and dave is still going to look for the top brass in the game.

yes, matt c. has been with pearl jam for 20+ years but a big opportunity is just that. you might see 20+ being safe when maybe matt might feel like it's a change? who knows?

Foo Fighters tour practically non-stop. Would MC up for that?

I would bet that Dave wouldn't even ask Matt to join FF.  Too much respect there between those bands.  No need to be stepping on toes.
