i know,,but u mean the wishlist getting passes from the robin hood to raise money for the wishlist right?

again not that i know much , but this robin hood thing seems to do their own stuff, i think they are just concerned with their charity

and as great as the wishlist is,, its not on the same level as the robinhood in terms of being known

Hate to break it to you...
This has been "known" for 2 weeks now.

    Friends & Colleagues:

Pearl Jam is playing a private benefit concert for Robin Hood on July 1, 2008 at the Beacon Theatre – with your help we could raise $3 million to help poor New Yorkers build better lives for themselves and their families. All of the money we raise from the show will go directly to poverty-fighting schools, clinics, job centers and community groups in New York City. If you aren’t familiar with either Robin Hood or Pearl Jam, I have attached some information for your review…

I would like to send you a formal invitation to the event. Please reply with your mailing address (even if you think I already have it!) so that we will be sure to include you on the list… Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thanks and have a great weekend!

Robin Hood fights poverty in New York City by finding, funding and partnering with over 240 of the most effective programs and schools in the city’s poorest neighborhoods. Their approach to philanthropy is founded on hard-nosed investment principles that maximize the impact of your donation. First, their board of directors pays for all administrative, fundraising and evaluation costs, so that 100 percent of your donation goes directly to the organizations serving the city’s poor. Next, they provide management assistance and support services from in-house experts and pro bono consultants of top commercial firms. Finally, in an industry without a history of proven metrics, Robin Hood establishes performance indicators and hires independent evaluators to judge the results. By their estimates, every dollar you donate returns an average of $12 of benefits to New York’s poor. http://www.robinhood.org

    About Pearl Jam

Pearl Jam is a 5-piece American rock band that formed in Seattle in 1990. Since its inception, the band has sold 30 million records in the U.S. and an estimated 60 million albums worldwide. Pearl Jam has outlasted many of its contemporaries from the alternative rock breakthrough of the early 1990s, and is considered one of the most influential and popular bands of the decade. The band is noted for its refusal to adhere to traditional music industry practices as their career progressed, including refusing to make music videos and engaging in a much-publicized boycott of Ticketmaster.

Pearl Jam continues to generate hit albums, tour successfully, and garner critical acclaim into the 21st century. The band is best known for hit songs including “Alive,” “Even Flow,” “Daughter,” and “Once”. Lead singer Eddie Vedder has also contributed solo material to several soundtracks and compilations, including soundtracks for the films Dead Man Walking, I Am Sam and, most recently, Into the Wild.

I am sure they will fill the place. It's a great organization, and highly deserving. Now if they come up with one of those last minute 10c lottery thingies no one tell me please, as I'll be out of the country :)

Just spoke to my friend at Robin Hood who is a senior person there. PJ is definitely playing a show for them on July 1st at the Beacon. They are playing a full show and not some quick 5 song set. He reserved some tickets for me so psyched

So they play places I CAN go to when I'll be away and places I CAN'T go to when I'm home and in the area.

Well, more and more each day I think I'll be adding a third Radiohead date to my summer calendar to make up for missing so much PJ.

Blerg! I want in on this show! Ahh!
I shit and I stink. I'm real, join the club.

A friend, he called, I didn't mention a thing. The last thing he said was, "Be sound". Sound. I contemplated an awful thing, I hate to admit. I just thought those would be such appropriate last words. But I'm still here.
