Thought I’d share. Pitchfork is a rotting corpse of sorts, but if they’re going to do this, I’m voting.

Pitchfork is much better than they used to be imo. The scores they give albums are occasionally nonsensical, but the reviews themselves are well-written and thoughtful. And the organization as a whole is no longer above admitting fault when they overestimate or underestimate the cultural significance of a band, album, or song.
Pitchfork would give at least Vs. and Vitalogy an 8 or higher if they decided to do a critical reevaluation of the first half of the band's catalog. Their reviews of the back half of the band's catalog are a bit harsh, but mostly fair. Some great songs, but a lot of weak spots as well.
They're a much better authority on up-and-coming acts than they are on established ones. I mostly listen to post-hardcore when I'm not listening to Pearl Jam, and I really trust Pitchfork on that front.Post edited by AlaG on0
