Shut me up

If I scream at you
I'm afraid you'll hit me
Here comes the litany

When you call my name out loud
It sends chills down my spine
What did I do this time? ... every time.

Why is he mad at me?
Not with the kids around
Turn up the TV sound

Turn over and shut up
Take it like you know you want to
Bare my hands and blood fool

Just Shut me up
By pouring water on my face
Say nothing, it's not my place

FYI readers: this is not a self-reflective poem. It's an empathetic one. I come from a very nice upbringing and I am not this person in the poem. I'm speaking for those who can't. Love.
