House of the Dragon

Surprised there isn't a thread on this one yet.  I still cringe when I think about the final season of GoT, but had to check out the prequel last night.  I really liked it.  The actor who plays Daemon is just perfect...looks like he was born to play an evil Targaryen.

Yeah I've really been enjoying it.  Pretty wild that they re-cast half the show after 5 episodes but it was a pretty smooth transition.  Alicent sure did evolve quite a bit in the time jump.

Shit is getting real. Wonder if they will follow the GoT model with episode 9 being the holy shit episode of the season.

This show loves huge time jumps.  And yeah, I'll go ahead and assume it won't be a peaceful transition of power.

That was one of my complaints. One episode they just change the cast to be 30 years older. Seems choppy time-wise.
Got through about 4 or 5 episodes then it got me wanting GOT, so I started rewatching that. Will finish up with this show though.

I guess I like it more now...I still find myself not knowing who the fuck they are talking about half the time.

Watching w/ closed captions has become a must for me, its a big help in following the plot.

I def turn the volume way up for this show.  Did the same for GOT.  I think it's a combo of the accents and the fast moving dialog.

I have not ready any of the books but from what I understand this season is like a setup for what actually takes place in the books.

Yeah that was a little too close to home for a Pennsylvania voter.
