    Joe Strummer actually wrote "The Long Shadow" for and about Johnny Cash. Cash checked it out, but decided not to record it. But now just about everyone who loved Joe Strummer and all he stood for feels it was really Joe writing his own epitaph.  "Silver & Gold" feels more specifically Joe writing about how he wants to look back, but everything about "The Long Shadow" is so true of Joe. Actually pretty cool that he wrote it for and about one of his heroes, but it fits Joe himself perfectly, as he himself was a hero to many. <3
