as i was recording last night, i was fine tuning my acoustic with the equalizer i got. it was great. got rid of all the thump that used to be a bit of a problem. now i kinda want another one so i can have one for 6-string and one for 12 since the guitars respond so differently.
now i can see why david gilmore has so many....

the lightbulb turns on.
but i was recording. to make a cd to try to get gigs. so i'm validated. i think.
even better. You're bonafide.
yeah. I saw one of the blink 182 guys smash a Taylor 612 on some MTV show a couple nights ago. Almost made me cry.
don't get me started on blink, man. the fact that tom delonge has already had two signature guitars disgusts me to no end.
well it would, but they are pink and seafoam green for todays new metrosexual aspiring guitarist so it really dosen't bother me. We used to hear Come as you Are in guitar shops now we hear terrible awful metal riffs. Pop Punk power chords will be a nice change. Watching them record made me realize just how great a job that is. Basically they do the same thing we do as a hobby they just have unlimited funds.
add to the pink and green strats, the shit-brown ES-33x gibson that just came out.
as Edward says to Mike. "Make me cry...."
he had a voice that was strong and loud and
i swallowed his facade cos i'm so
eager to identify with
someone above the crowd
someone who seemed to feel the same
someone prepared to lead the way
boss GE-7s
tom morello uses that very one.
people swear by them as boosts.
i'll just be using them for acoustic shaping.
should help get rid of the dead spots eq out the tinnyness in the top end that digital recording amplifies.
Cool...
Lotsa acoustic players and bass players like those...
I've heard good things about these, too:

We in the business call that "crispness" and we like it on digital recordings... it's the advantage of digital over analog...
I broke my headphones the other day so I'm going to get some more true natural sounding sennheisers with the velvet cups much more comfy.
My Senn HD280's are pretty nice, if you want isolation...
If you want open-backed, though, AKG all the way...
mainly isolation because I usually record off my amp and I want to hear what it sounds like coming off the mic rather than from the speaker.
anyway, got the second GE-7 for cheapy.
this is what i'm going to use for acoustic.
TU-2 -> GE-7 (for 6) -> GE-7 (for 12) -> rack {tube preamp -> compressor}
i think i'll mount the GE-7s in the rack since i don't need to hit them *during* a song. just when i switch guitars. the only thing on the floor would be the tuner. i'll feel naked.
