good question. I'd say some sort of Lav mic.
My Girlfriend said to me..."How many guitars do you need?" and I replied...."How many pairs of shoes do you need?" She got really quiet.

    The Regals may be cheaper.

    I want one...
...and if you don't like it, you can suck on an egg.

    Back to the original question...

That Fishman seems great, and would work well for lo-fi settings (coffeeshop, demo recording, etc.) but you'd probably want to use or supplement some small-diaphram condenser, too. Something like an SM81 would be perfect, to capture that wonderful transient response and harmonics... just a note for future reference.

thanks man. i'm going to have to throw one of my guitars into open tuning and try to see what i can actually do with a slide before i drop into this. but it just might be fun.

This is like me and the Epiphone J-160... I probably don't need one, and I can't justify spending money on one, but they're so damned cool!

luckily, the shop doesn't have one right now. only a full-metal fender reso which i don't think i want.

i love the fact that all i need is a new NUT to flip these things to lefty.

There are some really good biscuits in the UK. I prefer mine with sausage and gravy.

    I don't know... I've never eaten anyone else's sausage... I don't think I would enjoy that.

i think it's too much of a niche instrument to foresake the sole acoustic for but depends on how much you actually play acoustic. it's all i'm doing right now.

well I have that dream of a Martin or a Taylor but it's covered by Strat and 335 and possibly Super Reverb and oh yes. Delay and Univibe.
