And another one...
Ohana to Vegas to SLC to Lincoln to Ames to Yieldwaukee to Chicago to Detroit to Cleveland to PITT to Baltimore to D.C.
Again, reminiscent of the 2004 Vote For Change tour, 2022 will be crucial for the band to help elect politicians who support their causes & interests.
"For this is no time for depression, or self-indulgent hesitance
This fucked-up situation calls for all hands, hands on deck"

1. Ohana Encore - Dana Point, CA  Fri. 10/07 & Sat. 10/08 (Ed & Painted Shield)

2. Las Vegas, NV -  Mon. 10/10, Tue. 10/11, or Wed. 10/12 (PJ, new venue - hit the road while the gear is still unpacked!)
  • House races that need a Blue win: Dina Titus (1st District), Susie Lee (3rd) & Steven Horsford (4th). Also, to elect Elizabeth Mercedes Krause (2nd district),
  • to help Senator Catherine Masto hold her Senate seat
  • to help Governor Stephen Sisolak hold the Governor's chair
- - possible venues:
  • T-Mobile Arena (the reliable choice, as long as we check vaccine & test status) 20,000
  • Cashman Field (baseball, outdoors AND Metallica & Jerry Cantrell played there in '98) 12,500 <----
  • Michelob Ultra Arena (UFC) 12,000

3. Salt Lake City, UT -  Wed. 10/12, Thu. 10/13, or Fri. 10/14 (hey, it's on the way)
  • House races that need a Blue win: Rick Jones (1st District), Nicholas Mitchell (2nd), Glenn J. Wright (3rd), and Darlene McDonald (4th). Long shots, but worth a try.
  • ugh... so, it's gonna come down to Evan McMullin (Independent), and Ted Cruz's BFF, Mike Lee. There's no easy choice here, but Evan hits at least the conservation side of PJ's environmental causes. Other than that, if you live in Utah, this is purely strategic: stop the GOP. No matter what.
  • no Governor's race, but the Great salt Lake is running dry. Utah could use a kick in the ass from PJ.
- - possible venues:
  • Vivant Arena (formerly the Delta Center) 20,000
  • USANA Amphitheatre (outdoors, coincidentally the home of the last Crue fest ;) ) 18,000 - 25,000

4. Lincoln, NE -  Fri. 10/14, Sat. 10/15, or Sun. 10/16 (voter reg. initiative)
  • House races that need a Blue win: Patty Pansing Brooks (1st District), Tony Vargas (2nd), and David Else (3rd). Vargas has the best shot.
  • no Senate race this year, but always good to get people motivated & registered. Hell of a show (and poster) in October 2014!
  • to elect Carol Blood to the Governor's chair, and keep Jim Pillen from trying to tell women what to do with their bodies
- - possible venues:
  • Pinewood Bowl Theater (outdoors, ASM Global) 5,500
  • Pinnacle Bank Arena (ASM Global) 14,620
  • Charles Schwab Field Omaha (baseball, a beautiful park) 24,000

5. Ames, Iowa - Sun. 10/16, Mon. 10/17, or Tue. 10/18 (voter reg. initiative; don't know if we could get 2 small towns, but we can dream...)
  • House races that need a Blue win: Christina Bohannan (1st District), Liz Mathis (IA-2), Cindy Axne (IA-3), and Ryan Melton (IA-4)
  • Mitch McConnell's BFF Chuck Grassley will be *89* by this time next year. 7 terms in the Senate (41, going on 42 years). When he runs, he'll serve ANOTHER term if a Democrat is elected Governor, or retire in 2023 & let the Republican Governor appoint a Republican Senator without an election. Iowa MUST step up & elect Michael Franken.
  • to defeat Governor Kim Reynolds, and help the Deidre DeJear take the Governor's chair
- - possible venues
  • Hilton Coliseum (basketball arena; check vaccine & test status) 14,384
  • Hey Jeff, they have a skate park
  • I mean... it's Ames! Who else would do the poster?? Also, PJ actually had a gig here in 1991, but it was cut short. Time to make things right! Ames is a very blue-ish purple town, and the home to ISU. Could be the next Moline show! Speaking of...

6. Milwaukee, WI - Tue. 10/18, Wed. 10/19, or Thu. 10/20
  • House races that need a Blue win: Ann Roe (1st District), Mark Pocan (2nd), Rebecca Cooke, or Deb McGrath (3rd), Gwen Moore (4th), Mike Van Someren (5th), Amy Washburn (6th), Richard Ausman (7th), and Robin Kettleson (8th)
  • to elect Sarah Godlewski to the Senate, and send Tr*mp-buttsniffer & Putin-apologist Ron Johnson to the unemployment line
  • to re-elect Tony Evers to the Governor's chair
- - possible venues:
  • FiServ Forum (ASM Global, the Bradley Center was demolished, sadly) 18,412
  • American Family Insurance Amphitheater (formerly known as the Marcus Amphitheater) 23,000

7. Chicago, or Moline, IL - Thu. 10/20, Fri. 10/21, Sat. 10/22 or Sun. 10/23
  • House races that need a Blue win: Jonathan Jackson (1st District), Robin Kelly (2nd), Delia Ramirez (3rd), Jesus Garcia (4th), Mike Quigley (5th), Sean Casten (6th), Danny K. Davis (7th), Raja Krishnamoorthi (8th), Jan Schakowsky (9th), Brad Schneider (10th), Bill Foster (11th), Homer Markel (12th), Nikki Budzinski (13th), Lauren Underwood (14th), Paul Lange (15th), Bradley Horges Jr. (16th, Kinzinger's old seat), and Eric Sorenson (17th)
  • hats off to Adam Kinzinger (R) for doing SOMETHING to defeat make Tr*mp be held accountable for attempting a self-preserving coup
  • to help re-elect Senator Tammy Duckworth to the Senate
  • to help re-elect Governor J.B. Pritzker to the Governor's chair
  • The Return to Moline. Then Wrigley?! And if not the latter, then a little love for the ol' United Center??

- - possible venues
  • TaxSlayer Center (formerly iWireless Center, circa 2014 - the No Code show) 12,000
  • WinTrust Arena (ASM Global) 10,400
  • United Center (Home of the Bulls) 23,500
  • Wrigley Field (I mean, c'mon) 42,000+
,

8. Detroit, MI - Sun. 10/23, Mon. 10/24, or Tue. 10/25 (voter reg. initiative)
  • House races that need a Blue win: Robert Lorinser (1st District), Jerry Hilliard (2nd), Hillary Scholten (3rd, key race), Joseph Alfonso, or Chris Glasser (4th), Bart Goldberg (5th), Debbie Dingell (6th), Elissa Slotkin (7th), Dan Kildee (8th), Brian Steven Jaye (9th), Angela Rogensues, or Rhonda Powell (10th), Haley Stevens (11th), Rashida Tlaib (12th), and Sherry Gay-Dagnogo (13th)
  • no Senate race this year, but plenty of time to focus on the water crisis in Flint that has taken YEARS to fix due to Republican sponsored deregulation
  • to help re-elect Gretchen Whitmer to the Governor's chair. She's tough as nails, and faced down a legit kidnapping threat. Michigan needs strong women leaders.

- - possible venues
  • DTE Energy Music Theatre (originally Pine Knob Music Theatre, outdoors) 15,274
  • Little Caesars Arena (basketball) 17,131
  • Jolt Credit Union Event Park (ASM Global, outdoors) 5,500

  • to help re-elect Chris Van Hollen to the Senate & defeat the GOP nominee who will vote against the woman's right to choose, and do nothing to stop gun violence
  • to help defeat the GOP nominee and elect Wes Moore, or Tom Perez (yeah, I know he sucks, but a Republican would be worse) to the Governor's chair
  • the Royals Farm renovation threw a real monkey wrench into the band's plans, so this is welcome & due

Any thoughts on outdoor venues welcome! (Indoor venues will be a fall back). Any candidates listed are not official endorsements of the band. If you know of a Republican, or an Independent who has an actual chance of winning who shares the band's views on women's rights, gun violence, and environmental issues (all 3), by all means: mention them & I'll give 'em a look. If any of the above mentioned Democrats don't reflect the band's views, I'll gladly remove them.

At the end of the day, this thread is a logistical pitch to the band to travel the country one more time this year, play some more shows, work with regular partners like HeadCount & Surfrider to promote causes they are passionate about, and maybe, just maybe, elect officials who will help enact policies that support those causes.

Regardless...

Election Day is Tuesday, November 8, 2022

Looks like it IS a music video, done by none other than Samuel Bayer ("Smells Like Teen Spirit", "American Idiot", Bowie & more). Still think more shows in October are a good idea, tho ;)
