Pearl Jam Live Essentials List

Not sure if something like this has been posted before, but I couldn’t find anything when I searched.

Anyways long story short some friends (Not huge PJ fans, know some of the more popular songs) and I are going to both Hyde park shows in July and I wanted to do something like sending live versions of songs daily for like 30 days before the shows. Just to get them a feel for what to look forward to really.

Obviously, Pearl Jam has been rocking for 30+ years now so it’s not easy to pick out versions especially for the more oft played songs. Is there possibly a list of essential live versions of songs out there? And if not I would love to start one. Any help would be appreciated. I am looking forward to hearing what everyone thinks!

Official List In Progress (In no particular order):
Nothingman - New York City 2010
Crazy Mary - Cincinnati 2006
All or None - Leeds 2014
Black - Milan 2006

You may really want to just send songs from the 2022 bootlegs.  Those will be the most current edition of Ed's voice, and also have Josh on every song.
    • 2006: Gorge 1
    • 2009: Seattle 1
    • 2013: Seattle
    • 2016: Wrigley 1 & 2
    • 2018: Seattle 1&2, Montana
    • 2020: San Diego, LA 1&2, Oakland 1&2
    • 2022: San Diego, LA 1&2, Fresno, Sacramento, Las Vegas, Denver

I'd like to mix some in for sure because they sound great, but there are a lot of songs I want to include that weren't played during the first leg. I want to get the best of the best and get the hype going for them!

That is helpful and a good start, but there are still many bootlegs missing from Spotify too.

This, but also Spotify has some good curated playlists on the official PJ account. You're guaranteed to get a little bit of Ten, and a little bit of Gigaton with Matt & Jeff back. Also, doesn't hurt to seek out live versions of the following: Daughter, (sometimes tags with W.M.A. or Pink Floyd's 'Another Brick in the Wall Pt. 2'), Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town (even as a 1st-timer, you'll know when to do your first "Hello!"), Corduroy, Better Man (usually has a great tag of 'Save it For Later' by The Beat at the end), Immortality, Present Tense, Red Mosquito, Given to Fly, Wishlist, Do the Evolution (I envy your first "Hallelujah" sing along), Of the Girl seems to be back in rotation, I Am Mine was played in 2021, Avacado seems to be on the backburner, but could return, Unthought Known, Just Breathe, Mind Your Manners, Lightning Bolt, hell, pretty much any song can pop up at any given time from Lost Dogs, or a soundtrack.
Keep you fingers crossed for a fave like Glorified G, or Breath, but just roll with it if ya don't get it. And to wrap everything up, you'll get some sort of mix of Alive, Neil Young's Rockin' in the Free World, The Who's Baba O'Riley, Indifference, or Yellow Ledbetter.
    You're gonna have a blast B)

Thanks Animal. I've been looking forward to these shows for a while now, they will be my first and I couldn't be more excited. Thanks for the suggestions. It is unfortunate that Avacado, Riot Act and Binaural have seemingly got cut for the time being because some of my favorites are from those albums. Regardless it will be 2 nights to remember!!

They have so many bootlegs out there that I have a hard time pinpointing specific performances of any given song and proclaiming it as the best. However, there is one song in particular that I'm confident in saying that I know of the best rendition. It's not exactly a PJ original, and certainly not one of my favorite songs, but Crazy Mary from Cincinnati 2006 is by far the best Crazy Mary I've ever heard.

Indifference from the 94 Atlanta show is the only correct answer for that song.

Rearviewmirror give 11/06/1995 a listen too.
    Lukin from that same show.

    Off He Goes NOLA 2000.

Since they play quite of bit of Ten these days (heck, all 11 songs made it into the seven shows at least once) I'd go with...

    Once
Early 1990s: Drop in The Park, 1992
    Post 1990s: Toronto 1,  2011

    Even Flow
    Early 1990s: Moore Theatre, 1992
    Post 1990s: Brisbane, 2009

    Alive
Early 1990s: Drop in the Park, 1992
    Post 1990s: San Diego, 2006

    Why Go
    "Early" 1990s: Atlanta, 1994
    Post 1990s: Stockholm, 2012

    Black
    Early 1990s: Las Vegas, 1993
    Post 1990s: Milan, 2006

    Jeremy
    Early 1990s: Pinkpop, 1992
    Post 1990s: Camden, 2006

    Oceans
    "Early" 1990s: Orpheum, 1994
    Post 1990s: San Diego, 2006

    Porch
Early 1990s: Drop in the Park, 1992
    Post 1990s: Philly 3, 2009

    Garden
    "Early" 1990s: Atlanta, 1994
    Post 1990s: Vancouver, 2011

    Deep
    Early 1990s: Las Vegas, 1993
    Post 1990s: Buffalo, 2003

    Release
    Early 1990s: Moore Theatre, 1992
    Post 1990s: Bonner Springs, 2003

Obviously, there are many other great options but these are the ones I listen to quite often.
