Or is it odd that tonight will only be Pearl Jam’s 2nd show in Phoenix in 19 years? Phoenix is currently the 5th most populous city in the U.S. and growing at a faster clip than anywhere. Seems odd

I mean PJ hasnt been to Los Angeles since 2013 - especially with the baseball stadium tours it always shocked me that they skipped Dodgers Stadium.  (I know someone who isnt fron SoCal is going to say, but they were in Dana Point last fall.... OC and LA and VERY different places)

Pearl Jam is way over needing to drum up new fan base or play a city just because it’s a big market. They play where the weather is good, when it’s good and when is convenient for them. Think it’s a coincidence they go to Europe for the summer? Hell no, I’d work in Europe for the summer if I could too. Just because Atlanta and Houston havent had a show in years has nothing to do with market size, it has to do with the fact they have no desire to go to Texas or Georgia.

Maybe that’s why they stopped touring Phoenix after playing an outdoor show in June 2003. It was only 110 that day, lol

Smaller city than NY or LA and no personal connections like CHI/SD/SEA.  That's when they get loose and weird.  See Charlottesville.

Hahahahahahaa. Best set by far. Everyone knows Ed has connections here right? See my avatar? Just like 2013. I’ll take the epic Phoenix shows rather than every other year

Houston has a worse track record I believe.  Every time I’m in Houston I can’t believe how massive the city is.   There’s definitely an instant sellout if they ever play Houston again.

Yup, definitely the best and loosest set of the first 4 and also why out of all 9 shows, I’ve been looking forward to Fresno the most. Off to The Bay we go…

That’s crazy. I live in Phoenix and have seen them thirty times (only 3 in Phoenix). It’s fun to travel but it’s was nice to be home 45 mins after the show.

I do think houston in the summer is probably worse than Phoenix. Both suck but Houston also has the humidity

neither are my ideal place to see a show assuming it’s outside.  Last time PJ was in Houston it was outside

pretty nice set to boot.  Wish they had a couple more gigaton on the set but it looks good and what I did hear sounded tight.  Wash was particularly dark and moody.
