some may remember i had a stock tele that i put duncan stacked humbuckers into..... i had 1 volume, one tone, a 3-way switch and a mini-switch to toggle the bridge coils series/parallel.

changed my wiring again since i was never using the series/parallel switch and i prefer les paul type (two master volumes) wiring so.....

i now have volume on each pickup (the metal knobs) and a master tone. i've lost a couple distinctive sounds dropping the series/parallel switch from the bridge pickup but i'll get much more use out of the two volume set-up. i like to use both pickups and roll a bit of volume off the neck most of the time.

and i went back to the original maple neck as opposed to the rosewood strat neck i had on there.

  • Looks weird and interesting. I don't like how that knob is a different colour. I think that it would actually look with all knobs of that colour. It matches the guitar colour.

this was just done with parts bin scraps. if i redo it with new components, they'll all match.

So, do I take it you have a rosewood Strat neck with a three-bolt pattern that's available?
...and if you don't like it, you can suck on an egg.

no. it's a standard 4 bolt pattern. and it's the neck from my first, now deceased, guitar so it's not going anywhere. it's beaten to hell and cigarette burned. you wouldn't want it anyway.

So, then you have a 4-bolt Tele body?

I realized after I posted that the neck would likely be backwards, anyways...

all my fenders have been american standards with 4 bolt necks. and yes, you'd be upside down and lacking side dots etc.

    Side dots are for pussies.

    But I can't tune upside down :(
