Fucking around on youtube today and I stumble upon this and just wanted to share it. I didn't know it at the time that this was going to be the beginning of  a 30 year journey seeing  50 something shows. Man what great times they were, the early 90's, being 20 years old. My best friend took me to this show, still don't know how he got those tickets either. He passed away sadly about 10 years after this (fuck heroin) and I can't put into words the emotions and memories watching this hour long video just sucker punched me with. Thank you to whoever recorded this and thank you PJ for 30 years, here's to 30 more. Cheers.
EDIT---anyone know the story behind the guy with the flashlight dancing around on stge and then Ed rides on his shoulders during Leash ?

yep, across the bridge in Camden in 98. the whole ticketmaster thing thing kept them away.

And if you wanna get technical, not till 2003. Thats why the banner that got hanging up in Wanovia/Wells Fargo/FU Center was only for 10 shows back in '16. It says 10 South Philly sell outs.

I too was at this show and it was my first PJ show. A couple of things persist in my memory. Upon getting to the venue early, I saw Mike standing in a doorway down the street enjoying a smoke, not clear if he was watching the fans line up, waiting on a friend or just getting out of the light rain that night. Next was during Porch when Ed made his way from the stage to the side speakers then up to the balcony. He passed right in front of me and I rubbed his sweaty head, which was sorta gross but funny at the time. The energy they put out that night turned me from a casual fan to a diehard. Joined the 10C, and haven't let my membership lapse ever since. The joy and cathartic release of emotion I first experienced seeing them live that night has been repeated countless times in much larger venues. If you missed them in clubs way back when, but have felt strong feelings seeing them at an arena or stadium show, you are getting an experience that is very similar, at least in an emotional sense.

Wow, PJ at the TROC.  I wish I was a fan back then but didn't catch on till later and it was during the TM fiasco.  My first show was in Camden in 98.  Haven't looked back since.  I'll definitely check this out.  The TROC, wow.

Thank you Hoagie Breath, I had a rare Monday off today and I thoroughly enjoyed this.  Actually, this made my day.  I work in the city (pre-COVID), still do but not daily.  I  have walked by the Trocadero many times.  I remember the first time I noticed it, I was like, this is where the Troc is, in Chinatown?  Oddly enough, I was there for a show many years before this realization, but since I was so young, I had no idea where I was, was not familiar with the city all those years ago.  It's a shame it's gone, but thank you again.  What a treat!!!
