Here we go again.  Another one of these posts.

When will people start to understand that verified fan sales are NOT 10Club ticket sales? Verified fan has nothing to do with 10Club.

I hear you. It shouldn't be this hard or expensive to get tickets to your favorite band. Sad times. But im also guessing there will be a bunch of extras available within the days before the show. This happened to the EV solo shows. So dont panic!

There’s a “filter” option when buying tickets on TM that allows you to remove platinum seats and only show regular tickets. I understand in the scramble everyone is probably just selecting best available or quickly choosing on the map, but this is how things are handled now. Honestly, I found the whole process from 10 club lottery to VF today to be smooth and thoroughly explained beforehand.

I agree with your last sentence, but at the same time Phish broke up for years.

It’s a different  batch of tickets.  It’s TM tickets true. PJ allowed this, also true

they also announced this:In order to maintain low ticket prices and fan club accessibility, we will be releasing a limited number of premium tickets to the public at market rate price at a later date.

it’s  not fair to take the super expensive tickets out of context to the stated intent of having that offset lower price 10c tickets and/or to secure more fan club allocations.  If you look at it solely as a money grab, that’s only half the story

If the cost is too much for you, ya don’t have to go. People seem to forget that skipping a concert is an option.

Let me know if you can find me a GA for Ottawa? I will either have a great reserved or GA for you in Hamilton.

I think that PJ and VF are related because the VF tickets (not the premium) were the same price as my lottery ticket cost, no matter where the seat was (Nashville).
I’m thinking the OP may have missed the lower price tickets and had to buy the higher. I agree that these two have a business relationship for sure so I believe the band (probably all bands) has a significant say in how things are handled.
I feel bad for those who are paying higher prices but I also believe it does what it’s intended, getting more 10C members in the door by controlling the majority of seats.

From what I'm seeing, you can still get face value tickets for Ottawa and Hamilton. Toronto, though, yeah, you're down to Premium (don't buy them) or waiting for F2F.

    PJ =/ 10c.

Generally platinum tickets are the result of a promoter offering a guarantee to a band to play the show, then they need to raise enough revenue from the show to pay the band and earn themselves a profit.

Platinum tickets are a way to earn more ticket revenue, which results in both the band and promoter making more.   TM makes more by proxy because their fees seem to be correlated to the cost of a ticket.

I would have to think the band gave the ok for this.   It's possible they turn a blind eye, try to get as many tickets allocated to the 10c as possible, and leave the rest up to the promoter/tm, but given how the feel about ticketing, I have to imagine the gave an ok to do it.

I don't blame the 10c, none of the 10c tickets were sold for platinum prices.   These are the non 10c tickets.

These new "Platinum" tickets definitely do suck.  With the rising costs of everything lately I'm not surprised they have them.  If it means being able to offer more 10Club seats at better prices then I'm all for it.

I know in my household, expenses rarely go down from year to year.  They usually go up.  So we need to earn the same or hopefully more than previous years.

The band is no different.  They are all accustomed to a certain amount of revenue coming in each year and I imagine they want to meet or exceed that each year without being hoggish about it. So they either have to play more shows at the same prices or play fewer shows but increase prices.

If the cost of making huge amount of tickets available to the fan club at below market rates is to allow the promoter to sell select seats at premium then I’m ok with it.  I wish tickets were still $19 each but it is what it is.
