has anyone in their travels come across aftermarket P90s with reverse wound reverse polarity and chrome dogear covers?

i can find many makers with black covers but no one with chrome.

i now own a lefty epi casino that needs some upgrades to go from good to great.

You could call Lindy Fralin and ask if he could reverse wind them. I'm sure they could, and they are nice people.
I don't know if they could put a chrome cover on, though, but it wouldn't be that hard to do yourself,,, soldering man that you are! :D
Actually, I don't even think they are even soldered on. It shouldn't be too hard to do yourself.

i figured with the dogears that the covers were bonded on but perhaps that's not the case with all of them. that vintage vibe place does bond them on.

i only got this guitar last night so i haven't had a chance to take it apart yet, which is the best way to get to know an instrument i've found. perhaps i can salvage the stock chrome covers as long as i can find aftermarket without bonded covers.

then there is the issue of the body curvature.

i have to redo all the wiring anyway since it's done left-handed halfass. gibson is the only company that actually wires their left-handed guitars right-handed so the tapers are right and everything. the rest i have to redo. well, actually, i need to upgrade a couple other things.

but, like most epi hollowbodies, it's a good foundation. it's just a little noisy in my basement.

That is a great guitar! Congratulations.

It sure is a lot easier to rewire those semihollowbodies when you take the pickups out! Making that harness for the pots is tricky,,,,,, well, the tricky part is getting them through the f-holes and to the holes for the pots. I use fishing line and four letter words!

Maybe Fralin or someone can make them and not put the cover on. They make everything to order anyway, so I bet they could accomodate that.

i used string when i redid the dot i used to own. still took a damn long time.

i'll see if i can salvage the stock covers and then email fralin. he'll do the reverse wind and it appears the covers are loose.

    thanks.

    thanks.

i promised myself i wasn't going to buy anymore guitars but whenever i see something somewhat unique (for lefties anyway), i have to grab it. i keep trading away my epi's but hopefully i'll hang on to this one.

i wish they'd made the revolution casino in a few lefty copies. even the elitist doesn't come lefty. i'm told even the korean lefties may disappear soon.

    imagine it backwards.
