Two Earthlings songs you’d like PJ to play

For me:
- invincible
- brother the cloud

Invincible has the soaring, genuine Echo Victor vibe. I can see/feel that reverberating through a PJ show.

Brother the Cloud is not only a good rock song, the lyrics make a good tune into a great one.

My honorable mentions:
- Mrs. Mills (Highlighting Boom.)
- Try (reminds me of The Fixer.)

Pass.  If they play any songs from this album I'll be disappointed.  Brother the Cloud reminds me of a worse version of Given to Fly, song structure-wise.  Invincible, a "take off" on Quick Escape, with all the chatter about lift off, take off, call signs, etc. This new album is okay at best.  Some of it is pretty bad.  Can't we just leave these songs with Ed, and leave Pearl Jam shows to Pearl Jam?

I've seen quite a few Pearl Jam shows.

So far just Invincible but ok if they do not at all.

Definitely Invincible. Brother the Cloud is great, but I think The Dark would be a lot of fun.

BTC is the only contender (for structure & subject matter), the rest stay with Ed/Earthlings.

Invincible to open a show would be killer.

The other one maybe…Personally I’d love it to be Fallout Today.

Good and Evil is like a better version of Can't Deny Me. In fact, if they wanted to replace the latter with the former going forward, I'd be fine with that.

I remember the 2011 tour when the band was playing Setting Forth. Even though I like the song, I just didn't love how it slid into the set. I will politely say that I don't want any of the songs to find their way in...but I do enjoy the album.

Just curious, do people of this opinion have a problem with songs from Into the Wild or Ukulele Songs being played at PJ shows? Is this album different because it's more of a full-band sound?

I have not been a big fan of that happening either and been glad that it's rare. There are too many PJ songs waiting to be played for slots to be taken up by Ed's side projects. Once in awhile, fine, but it would be a detriment if it became a regular thing.

If they showed up in the same frequency as act of love off Mirrorball that keeps the side project songs special

to me mirrorball/Earthling/ITW stuff would be nice if PJ plays it on occasion. Not regular rotation

I agree with this sentiment. A sometimes / rarity thing.

    Rose of Jericho & Invincible.
  • Brad/RNDM have songs I'd much prefer to see covered by PJ if they were going down side band covers.
