i'm almost glad i'm lefty because, even though i already have a gear addiction problem and thus shouldn't be looking at ebay, i'd be beyond salvation if i could play right handed guitars. my head would explode.

Then again the gigantic BJF test board from Makin Music is probably going to cost me that to ship anyway.

step away from the computer greg. The wife is going to be mildly unhappy. :D
My Girlfriend said to me..."How many guitars do you need?" and I replied...."How many pairs of shoes do you need?" She got really quiet.

That thing is nice though. I've been wanting to try those Don Mare tele pickups too.

It's amazing how cool guitars sound on amps devoid of tone stacks.

never even heard of don mare until that post. just way too many pickup makers to keep track of these days.

I can't even keep up with guitars anymore, let alone pickups and effects and amps.

I was better off with choices like "Strat or Les Paul", "Marshall, Fender or Vox"

and some "beers". Life was simple then! :)

there are over 90 different models of fender stratocasters. that says it all.

the squire 51 costs $150US. the custom shop fender version $4500US.

    it's all gone pear shaped.

i need to lose 20 but i'm drowning in baby/domestic/career tarpits.

i polish my guitars with navel lint.

I guess I've been lucky. I'm still 160 or so since years ago.

Had the harleys, but before all the doctors and lawyers had them

The guitars I bought new are "vintage" and "relic" now, too. :(
I guess I have some finish peeling on me, too. :)

I think the guitar industry started a new word, too. Is relicing a word!?

i'm on that list too, was starting to wonder how much it would be. it's got to be in that ballpark.

Ahh well if i can't afford to ship it, i guess it'll have to stay with me, right!?!!
  • oh yeah, and the 62 tele is definitely the best...

i'm a fool for tele's with binding. i played a tele reissue, same color/binding, but with bigsby (not sure of reissue year). almost bought, but the fret ends were a bit imperfect. Looked so damn cool.

  • I have absolutely nothing to add to this thread, except a warm Hi y'all!

I haven't been posting a lot here - or anywhere for that matter - and since me mates are all here, I'd tell you all why. Some allready know I'm gonna be a dad in July. Well, I can add that it's gonna be a son.

Secondly, I 've got a cool new job - professional playtime is over, it was fun though - working communication for an environmental organisation. Was the whole climate thing cool before I got there, or has it become cool since I got there? :D

Anyway, I get to write, edit and do a lot of DTP stuff, lay-out, text design, flyers, posters, brainstorm to support their campaign. Good fun, very creative.

On the downside: no time left to play the geetar.

So anyway, enough hi-jacking this thread - but like I said: I got you all here. At least Greg stopped looking at Ebay for a minute. ;)

Hey Stefan, that's awesome! Congratulations on everything. Sounds like fun. The guitar will be waiting when you get time again...it's like riding a bike.
I guess the new gear you get to play with is Baby gear, but that's kind of fun too I guess. Having a son must be doubly cool especially since you can teach him D G and E from a young age. Good to hear from you and best of luck.

    Cheers,

    Paul.

  • Mr. Casper Leblanc!!
Congratulations! Wow, I didn't know! Well, having met you and your girlfriend,,,, I can say, great parents you will be! Tell her I said hi and congratulations, too! Outstanding!

One of the great things for cleaning guitars and parts and polishing up the parts is: Used baby diapers! So there you go. You're still in the game. :D

Playing and singing to your baby will be great, too, and keep you in the game!

    Congrats man! Best of luck!

In the vein of the thread, I've been looking at axes lately too, despite the fact that I just got my John Mayer Strat back in mid-December. I get three paychecks in March, so the budget will be overflowing with a little cash thats sure to burn a hole in my pocket. I've been thinking about either an Epiphone Casino or a MIM Telecaster to mod and mess around with.

Thoughts? I heard on the radio GC having a sale this weekend. So I may just head down to the closest one and see what they got and what deals are going on.
