With the strength of the various solo output, what are your thoughts on Pearl Jam playing the songs?

Grateful Dead played lots of solo Jerry and solo Bob, I think Pearl Jam should play some of these solo songs. Whether it's this new Eddie stuff or anything from Jeff/Stone/Mike, hell even Matt has some tunes out there.

What say yooze?

  • I think Pearl Jam should play Pearl Jam songs as the catalog is so huge.  There are so many Pearl Jam songs that are hardly ever played (and will continue to become rarer) that blow the socks off of any side project songs.  Leave the solo/side stuff for those shows.

Earthling songs need to be played more than just this tour.  I’d love to hear a couple sprinkled into the PJ set.

I would be disappointed. With the 1. cost of tickets these days and 2. depth of the PJ catalog, many truly great songs which seldom get touched, I would prefer they stick to PJ music.

That said they are the artists, and I respect their privilege to dictate the setlist as they wish.

I could see them pull 1 or 2 Earthling songs, like they have with the ITW tracks. But for the most part, no, I think they'll focus on their own stuff. Especially in the next couple years with them barely playing Gigaton tracks, plus I bet we have another record in the next year.

When they play setting forth. It was  alright once. Would rather more PJ maybe a couple stones, ramones, dead boys covers. Maybe have earthlings or painted shield do a quick set opening for pj. I'll likely just be flipping out the whole time if I go see them again.

I could see the band wanting to play Good or Evil. Or maybe a vaguely referenced Cornell tribute as a one off playing Brother The Cloud.
new album "Cigarettes" out Fall 2024!

I do not need to hear any of these solo efforts at a Pearl Jam concert

Not that it would ever happen at a Pearl Jam show, but I'd be down if Stone were to play Bayleaf.

Unless they start playing 50 shows a year, no thanks. It's hard enough to hear good ones in their own catalog

I can see a future EV solo tour reviving these songs with a subset of the current Earthlings roster (or completely replacement backing band), but the likelihood of them at a PJ is about as frequent as hearing a track off Into the Wild.

A cover of River of Deceit would be awesome.

I’d like to see the, stop playing any covers. It’s gotten to the point where the second encore is all covers.  They have a huge catalog I want to see them play Pearl Jam songs, not The Who, not Neil young, Pearl Jam.

To be fair Pearl Jam probably aren’t interested in playing some of their catalog, and would rather play a cover. Whatever sparks joy.

If the other band members are keen on playing them, then why not!? Matt, I think was the one who requested they play setting forth and it gets a go every now and again. If one or two of the other band members encourage Ed to play one or two then I can see it happening.

  • Be wild to go to a PJ concert and see them play nothing but JA solo stuff lol
95% of the crowd wouldn’t know a single song but I would freak out. That would be punk as fuck. The hilarity of all the bitching and moaning afterwards by most fans would also be priceless.

Will never happen but I can dream.
