ok we saw him co headline with the counting crows, it was maybe in 2005.
do not leave your seat. he came on and we went to get some chicken and it was over. he played 60 minutes and cc played about 61 :(
it took us longer to get out of the venue (at a place that pearl jam played at before, nissan pavillion in VA)
he was good though....this was back when he was poppy but he did play a new bluesy song at the end

these shows have been longer since it's not a co-headliner thing.

    oh
I think you'll like him. I bought a good dvd called "Crossroads" for my musician brother in law with eric clapton and JM on it....the damned thing was open so i kept it.
    check it out sometime...

    maybe jessica kissed it away?

i know a guitar player (local) and he does that very badly, guitar face. does screwing up your face help you hit the note?

Am I the only one who really doesn't care for John Mayer?? I have no intention of adding negativity to this thread, but I honestly feel this guy is overrated and sounds too much like Dave Mathews.

lots of people don't care for him.

I recorded with him in Atlanta 2000 (pre-fame), and he was a good player then.
He actually went to Berklee College of Music (so it should be a good show).
    Have a great time - Cheers . . .

Enjoy it man! I'm sure you will. Having just seen him last week at the Garden, at an amazing show, expect about 90 minutes or so.

And the guitar face is still there.

oooh, that's unfortunate about the guitar face. :)

Yeah, but its worth it for his playing.

I went last week with my girlfriend, who never saw him before. I mentioned before the show that he's coming around again over the summer if she'd want to see him again. After the show the answer was a resounding yes!

i'm looking forward to it. i really don't go to many concerts anymore so it's kind of a treat. sprung for the higher price level to get a little closer which i probably didn't need to do. oh well.

too bad it's in the hockey arena but that's the way it goes. as long as the sound's good and other shows i've seen in that building have been ok.

should be fun. 4 of us going. leaving the babies at home.

and kathleen edwards is opening the canadian shows which is a major bonus.

    you'll like him.

just leave the binoculars at home so you don't see the stupid faces.

i don't think he sounds like dave matthews. i think he sounds better.
