barber tone press compressor

despite my failure with the taylor, i found a used but ex condition barber tone press in the bin (for only $95CAN) and snapped it up quick. they tend to sell stuff they don't carry for too low prices.
very nice. kicked the dynacomp off the board pretty fast. i love the parallel blend. the pure compressor side squashes plenty but doesn't pump.
i think i actually like it more than the diamond comp i used to have. if only for the blend. seems to work well with all pickups, my bass and my acoustics with some color tweaking.

That's great to hear. I've heard good things about Barber from TGP and I see plenty of boards using them but I've never actually heard a sample.
Edit: Upon further inspection of the Barber site there's a sound section (go figure). Anyway it sounds nice and crisp, not as "imposing" as the Dynacomp. If idle hands are the devil's workshop, he must not be very productive.
