What a show. Chad’s drum solo was pretty sick. I absolutely loved The Haves and Brother the Cloud. Obviously Dirty Frank was unreal and the extra energy on Porch and RITFW was great.

The chemistry between the guys was on point. Everyone was having a great time. It really felt like great musicians having a get together and rocking the f out.

I attended tonight's show at the Beacon and like most of us have been checking the setlists the last few nights. The show was going according to plan and then Ed Ved started giving props to his "big bro" Chad Smith and the Chili Peppers for letting PJ open for them for an extended time.

Then the whole the shit turned on a dime. Ed says this song was inspired by the Chili Peppers and they let Dirty Frank rip! The place was obviously full of PJ fans/10 club and the place just flipped on its head. People were looking around like "uhhh you hearing this shit!", the dude next to me and I immediately started freaking out acknowledging it was already worth the price of admission. The performance of the song itself was electric. The Beacon is an intimate theater, one you wish you could see a full PJ show for sure. Anyway, I never post but this was unexpected and the reason why we schlep out for live music. Sometimes you just catch that magical moment and everyone knows it.

The show itself was cool and Ed was gracious and thankful per usual for everyone being respectful; acknowledging some songs were new and/or covers some may not be familiar with. Band sounded tight. Glen Hansard was raw and well received. Danny Clinch was nice on the harmonica. Also, Josh was pretty fuckin sweet with his Prince falsetto for the closer Purple Rain.

How about the Freakey Styley snippet during Dirty Frank, I have not heard that before - anyone know if they've dropped that in there before?

    It’s in the studio version
but wow how cool of everyone to have heard that! I bet it was amazing. Read they played a bit of the new RHCP song too? Seems odd for Josh to be a part of but cool of him

what a fucking show !! Band was tight and having a blast.  Ed was on fire all night.  new album songs were great .. the dark and try were highlights of the night along with dirty frank and not for you of course.
Just a great show from start to finish.  Timeless melody was a nice surprise and saw it in Saratoga 2000… great time!  Watt is a beast!  Go see the show if you can.  Thinking about going to Newark now.

Elaborating more. The crowd and the Beacon were fantastic as always.

The band though. The energy. The fun they were having was what took it to the next level. Will get lost probably with all the other stuff but that was one of the best Not For You’s I’ve ever seen. Ed was on fire.
Dirty Frank and Purple Rain were the definite high points.

Of the new songs I thought they all sounded great. BTC and invincible  especially. The latter of which I thought was kind of mind blowing.
