Was never a fan of his music but I did appreciate his acting!
As a kid I saw this cool album cover and thought what awesome metal music is behind this? I put it on and fast forwarded through the whole album looking for the cool songs but eventually ended up saying "WTF did I just listen to?"
I was further surprised to realize the whole world loved that album. Metal didn't rule the world? Struggles of a 10yo...

Wow, I hadn’t heard. I think he’s one of the most underrated artists. He got a cheesey image after “I Won’t Do That” but he had some really great songs. I can always listen to Bat Out Of Hell and Paradise. Jim Steinman, the brains behind his music, had some other amazing collaborations. A lot of people don’t know Steinman wrote Tota Eclipse of the Heart and Meatloaf sang backup.
paradise by the dashboard light is an ALL TIME classic!

Bob (who had bitch tits....aka Robert Paulson) was great.
Yeah, honestly, 99% of my Meat Loaf exposure is from Fight Club and the 'Anything for love" song/music video back in the heyday of MTV. There was also a song of his played at bars/parties in College that I thought was a complete mess. Had some sort of baseball game crammed into the middle of it.

Paradise by the dashboard light It is the song that made him big. (Well, beside the other, more obvious, thing)
The love he receives is the love that is saved

Definitely. Sad, weird, and a bit unsettling.
