CD Ripper/Streamer amp all in one?

OK,

I am looking to put every damn CD I own into a piece of equipment that can store them, stream them and play them back as well as support any streaming services and perhaps be an amp.

Do one of these devices exist?

I found this and am leaning toward it but really wanted a digital color screen to see what is playing.

Anyone delve into something like this?

Thanks

I bought the BlueSound Node (same thing sans the ripper).  I enjoy it to the point where all my CD's are getting donated, just no need for them with streaming and the sound quality is great!

Thought I wanted a 'digital screen', but after use I enjoy it without more.  The box itself can be hidden away or on display plus the art shows up on the phone app, so if I need to stare at a 2.5 inch by 2.5 inch album cover, I can do it there.

Cambridge CXN V2 has the digital face, but no ripper
Naim Uniti Star has a digital face/ripper/streamer/amplifier, but too pricey for me $5k+

That is what I have been finding, no ripper but everything else.  I don't care too much for paying to stream.  I have plenty of music to keep me occupied and buy plenty of new music to continue that.

I looked at the Blue Sound that you have and loved it.  Has everything but the damn ripper.

CD's are a huge space taker now and it's time for them to go...

You can also wirelessly link a laptop or hard drive to the BlueSound Node if you have all your music backed up already.

That is my other problem.  The music isn't backed up yet so I am looking to do an all in one and done scenario.

I don’t have one, but the Brennan B2 sounds like it might fit the bill.

You’d still need a backup solution, but it looks like it might be easy to manage with an external usb hard drive.

This is a lot of money for what you get, to be honest.  There are a few problems here, and bear with because I totally nerd out on stereo equipment.  I have strong opinions on the Bluesound and its value proposition, so I'll try not to pollute your opinion.

    Pros:
    1. Decent DAC
    2. Small footprint
    3. Local storage can be nice, but it de-values what a Bluesound inherently does, and that's to stream
    4. Screens are cool, but you'll likely be too far away to get any value

    Cons:
    1. Expensive for what it is.  An external cd, blu ray, dvd ripper that attaches via USB to a laptop or PC is about $100.  And it's replaceable whereas if the ripper breaks on this, you're done.
    2. Same problem with the internal hard drive.  If the hard drive where you ahve these 'backed up', fail, then what?  Can you extract this hard drive to save the data without disassembling or generally rendering the Bluesound useless?  Don't know, but that's a risk.

What is your end game?  Are you planning to connect this Bluesound to your integrated amp/AVR directly via USB or analog?  Understanding how you are going to use this with your stereo is important ot understand if this is a good product
  • This comment would be a deal breaker for me.
