That's funny. My 9 year old cries every time he hears Last Kiss too. I don't know why but he does. I think it's great that music affects him so much. He's a big sap for sad songs, just like his dad (although I seem to be immune to Last Kiss for some reason...).
I smile, but who am I kidding...

I actually feel like throwing up in my mouth when I hear it.
That's what is great about the music.

Good thing they pitch-hit Homer for Strawberry since it would of been a lefty / lefty match up. That is one of my all-time fav episodes!!! HA

  • There's quite a few PJ songs that make me cry, to be honest... Last Kiss is definately one of them :o
Been to this many PJ shows: Reading 2006 London 2007 Manchester & London 2009 Dublin, Belfast, London, Nijmegen & Berlin 2010 Manchester 1 & Manchester 2 2012...

... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.
  • No More makes me sob uncontrollably. Every time i've seen it live, i feel like such an idiot standing there with tears streaming down my face. I just can't help it though. It makes me SO emotional!

She's gone to heaven so I've got to be good, so I can see my baby when I leave this world.............

It is a great, sad song....just way over played (when it came out) and a crime that it is PJ's biggest hit

exactly. With all the amazing lyrics and songs that they have created,
it's a shame that a song they didn't even write are what they are
best known for outside the circle.

I must agree, don't like it..
It's funny when things change so much
    It's all state of mind

Don't sweat the small stuff and it's all small stuff

You think you hate it now, wait till you drive it...

Kids, you tried your best and you failed miserably. The lesson is, never try.

My parents had a K-Tel album of tearjerker songs, and Last Kiss (the original) was one of them...yeah, so when I was a kid it used to make me cry...the Peal Jam version is only good when live, and even then you have to be there cuz its SUCH a great sing-a-long!...And it was/is WAAAY too overplayed on the radio... Such a shame...they meant well and their intentions with the song were great...but...sorry...it wasn't that great a song in the first place.

When I was a small boy, say 35 years ago, my mom used to sing us "Last Kiss" and some other 50's & 60's songs of similar ilk. When I first heard the Pearl Jam song I jumped in and started singing. I even knew every word, something I don't think I can claim for any of "their" songs. Just wanted to share the memory.
