    Great half-year for shows!

    Drive-By Truckers x3 (New Haven, Brooklyn 2x)
Dimmer Twins (NYC City Winery 2x)
    Jeff Tweedy - Mass MOCA
    Neko Case - Woodstock, NY
    Los Lobos - Albany, NY
    Kathleen Edwards - NYC
    Richard Thompson - Tarrytown, NY
The Damnwells (!) - Brooklyn, NY (First time seeing them since 2011)
    Wilco - Forest Hills

Too bad I missed out on: Soul Asylum, Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, Dead & Co.
I've always been interested to hear Los Lobos.  How are they live?  Good crowd?

They are one of my favorite live bands. Like PJ, they mix up the setlists, and they have a few familiar favorite covers that they play often (Bertha, Not Fade Away, Cinnamon Girl, and assorted blues jams). I've been following them as long as PJ. Actually, I first saw LL 3 months before my first PJ show, in 1998.

Their audience skewers older these days (the band has been together since the early 1970s!), so they play a lot of small, seated, theaters. Earlier on, they played a lot of outdoor GA and club GA shows and dancing was encouraged.
I think they're opening for the Tedeschi-Trucks Band summer tour in 2022. I still need to pick up tickets to it.

  • 100% yes to Los Lobos

i'm super pissed at covid...in a couple of months it will be 2 years of limited live shows
that has caused a lot of harm to the live music venues/staff etc
this year was 5 shows total and things are not looking great right now
it's super depressing. i f'n cried at the 1st club show back, when the mc asked for a show
of hands, as to whom was attending their first show, since shutdown.
i looked around. almost everyone there.   :(

Great, enjoy Los Lobos! Here is a recent-ish pro shot video, from my hometown theater. I copied the link to the beginning of Will the Wolf Survive.

They played one or two new songs.  Not sure how I feel about the “new” line up

Went to a bar show to see the local punk band, Dayglo Abortions.   It kept me from getting a shutout in 2021 :(

Fingers crossed we can somehow pull off the Eddie Vedder Seattle shows next month.
