So why didn't they go with present day Pearl jam for Funko?

The nostalgia-look thing is a bit icky, but I am guessing it was be Funko Pop who wanted/demanded to have the "classic grunge image" of the band?

Or has the floodgates of the past opened completely after they brought back the stickman when the Ten Redux was released?

  • The past was when they were great.  We love Pearl Jam, obviously, but the world loves/knows Pearl Jam from 90s.  They don't want to see old people.

  • Casual PJ fans live for Ten.  They just do.  Everyone knows that album.

Funko Pops are all about nostalgia.  It's probably what makes them so popular.

    Because it feels nostalgia act-y.

    Nostalgia Act-y icky.

And I, as Jeff Ament, like to look forward.

Also, it made them George Lucas in Matt Cameron as being that Ten-era lineups drummer. Which they would not have to if it was present day.
