I have to say I really don't enjoy this song live.

I actually quite like the album version, but whenever the guys play it live it just really doesn't do it for me.

    What do other people think?

Oh he fills it up with the love of a girl...
  • yay!!!!!!! i love this song i just wish there were more verses. too short. but........... im not so keen on live versions i agree with comments made earlier-i hate to admit this but its true. eddie just screams the shit out of it and the words become a blur, sounds like he needs to clear his throat, and the guys tend to play it super fast and its short enough as it is. this is the worst thing ive ever said about the best band on the planet but hey, everyone needs a little criticism.

  • lukin is certainly a top five 'gritty' tune in my books...live or studio, that being said the live versions' pace is a bit quicker...

I liked that they played Lukin at Benaroya Hall. Probably the best version I have heard live.

    "No, it was cordless."
  • I love how on the Benaroya Hall cd they explain before they play it how special it is to play it acoustically tonight, saying on electric it always sounds a bit muffled and the words get lost, so they wanted people to hear "the sentiment", then get right into it and its as crazy as ever. I love the song

I have always really liked this song but I really wish they had added an extra chorus at the end (in the studio version). It would've felt more 'complete'.

It's good in the studio, but live...let's just say I know the lyrics better than Eddie.

I definitely like the studio version better than any live version. They play it too fast live and make a 60 second song a 30 to 45 second song. It is short enough, I don't want it any shorter. That said, I always love hearing it at a concert, and i really liked what Mike and Eddie did on Imagine in Cornice, even though they only played the first verse.

always, always guaranteed to go off live ... although it astounds me how ed manages to get the words out
    impatience is a gift ........
  • live for sure. very intense. I heard the live version before i ever heard the studio one. it sounds really slow in comparison
  • It's a great little song made even when they use it as a transition into Grievance or Not For You
  • Saw it live in Newark during Ed's solo...incredible...how DOES he get all the words out that quick!!
