always been one of my favorite bands...really dig their stuff. I've been listening to them a lot lately and I just wanted to drop a line and show some respect for one of the greatest rock bands of all time.

who's next is a classic album and recommended to any unfamiliar with the band :).

anyone agree?

  • I kind of do. :)

I have known The Who way before I've heard about Pearl Jam..and I wonder if it wasn't for The Who if I would have liked Pearl Jam the same way that I do..I'm sure I would..but there was some path I step into with The Who.
I've got my father to thank. He is a fan of them (loved them since he was young) and a musician himself..and so I've been exposed to them as a child..and also various other great music..
The worst enemies of music? Money and Mathematics. Combined with music, they both do the exact opposite of what they're supposed to do. Money makes music cheap, mathematics makes it stupid and predictable.

All should own the Who DVD Live at Royal Albert Hall.

Go to Drowned. Rock the Hell OUT!

One of the greatest bands ever, I saw them a year ago in thier aged state without Entwistle (who is a HUGE part of thier sound) and Kieth Moon and they were still phenominal.

  • The longevity and passion of the band helps to keep them fresh and everlasting into these future generations. Hearing them on CSI or PJ mentioning the influence/cover songs helps as well. Bands that continue to make music decades later definitely deserve credit. Rolling Stones and The Who are honorable mentions and hopefully Ed, Jeff, Matt, Mike and Stone follow that path as well.

Man! The Real Me has John Entwistle written all over it. He is definitely one of my favourite bassists.

you know what, I can literally sit down and listen to any of them and I still get the same feeling I did all those years ago. It makes me cry sometimes how much I love this band. I literally sit there and go, HOW CAN THEY CONTINUE TO MAKE ME FEEL THIS WAY. But they do.
Seriously though, I will sometimes put in Who Are You or any one of them, and 5 hours later I'm still listening to the Who's catalog. I just can't get enough sometimes.

And don't even get me started on Townshend's solo stuff. :)

happy holidays to you and yours Jose.

yeah, i saw them in November of 2006 in Salt Lake City. Long story short, it was the best show, sound and performancewise that i'd seen since truckin' it to Denver, CO to see Pearl Jam and Tom Petty.

I still have a hard time getting over the fact that John and Keith aren't around. All four of them made the who who they were and are, but John and Keith I think were taken for granted and never truly appreciated. John's bass lines are some of the best and Keith Moon is just a legendary drummer.

Quadrophenia and Who's Next are worthy of everyones money.

Getting In Tune is one of the most bad ass and well thought out songs ever...lyrically, musically and just how classy of a rock song it is.

you and me both. When I heard they were putting a new album (Endless Wire) I was THRILLED. And I still listen to it on a regular basis a year and a half later

Every time I see them, I say, this is it, this is the last time I'll ever see the Who, and then . . . they come back.

they can do that till the day they leave this earth and I will be there, no matter what the cost, they are worth every penny they ask for
