New tag to "Black"

Black---what could have been. This tag was played at Madrid: June, 2007.

Is Madrid/June, 2007 the first time that this tag was ever performed?

I am very curious.

Mr. B

what could have been
what could have been
will never be
it could have been here
I could have been there
well I want to be here
fuck you and them
I'm with my friends
I've got an end

what could have been
what could have been
no longer care
I no longer care
it's all right, it's all right
it's all right, it's all right

and I sing, de do do do do do do
Dalai Lama—To say that humility is an essential ingredient in our pursuit of spiritual transformation may seem to be at odds with what I have said about the need for confidence. But there is clearly a distinction to be made between valid confidence or self-esteem, and conceit - which we can describe as an inflated sense of importance, grounded in a false image of self.

first time i've heard of it. there was another long tag in...2005(?)..i think, that said something like "thought you'd be a star in my sky, still i wonder" or something. maybe someone can help me out with that one. anyway, i believe the tags change depending on ed's mood and how much wine he has consumed during the evening. usually it comes back to the "we belong together" tag as that seems to be the crowd favorite and I believe it is sung straight from the heart.

The version you're referring to is from Ottawa 05. go to http://www.pearljamlive.com and give it a listen....the best tag on Black I've heard so far!

You are the stars in the sky
Thought you were up in mine
    Still I wonder
    I wonder
    You're so long gone
    We've all come alone
    Still I wonder
    Still I wonder
    (not sure :()
    Somewhere
    I wonder
    I still wonder

makes you wonder what, maryland teacher?
is this on a personal note?
or do you wonder about the singer's conviction?

...after I write up another essay about Black and its tags....

...in the meantime, I, too, wonder....

IMO this is the best tag on the end of Black, there's better Mike solo's like Pistoia (sp) but this tag and version just grabs my heart and throws it on the floor.....pardon the language but absolutely fucking incredible!
