I am Mine!

This song moves me! How about you and what does it mean to YOU? I am short on time. I will share tonight at work if I get time
Thanks!
The selfish, they're all standing in line
Faithing and hoping to buy themselves time
Me, I figure as each breath goes by
I only own my mind
The North is to South what the clock is to time
There's east and there's west and there's everywhere life
I know I was born and I know that I'll die
The in between is mine
I am mine
And the feeling, it gets left behind
All the innocence lost at one time
Significant, behind the eyes
There's no need to hide...
We're safe tonight
The ocean is full 'cause everyone's crying
The full moon is looking for friends at high tide
The sorrow grows bigger when the sorrow's denied
I only know my mind
I am mine
And the meaning, it gets left behind
All the innocents lost at one time
Significant, behind the eyes
There's no need to hide...
We're safe tonight
And the feelings that get left behind
All the innocents broken with lies
Significance, between the lines
(We may need to hide)
And the meanings that get left behind
All the innocents lost at one time
We're all different behind the eyes
There's no need to hide
Thanks!

I really like this part of the lyrics:
The ocean is full 'cause everyone's crying
The full moon is looking for friends at high tide

To know that no matter what happens, one can still be his own.
And yet the antagonizing effect never to have someone that would then be 'yours'... (at least in my case ) it has on the hope it irradiates....
Never mind, life is ours, we're safe tonight !

I am mine.
i am not right and i am not wrong.
one should not judge others for what they see.
a hard task to obtain.
behind the eyes is you.
hopefuly you, is beauty.
no matter what happens to me, beings i am mine, no one has my own.
this being said in this life we know here and now, is in this clock.
our ticking clock, a stop watch, ready, set, go, stop.
inbetween ready set go, and stop, i am mine.
let the games begin.
but maybe i can share my, i am mine, with some hot ass f'in sex crazed
chicy who will share her, i am mine, with my, i am mine.
maybe making a lil i am mine or 2.
haha.
"Hear me, my chiefs!
I am tired; my heart is
sick and sad. From where
the sun stands I will fight
no more forever."
Chief Joseph - Nez Perce
the in between is mine."
good job!! that's f'kn cool! (i had much fun makin' a "my little mine" with "my little mine's" mama and was she ever hot, that's for sure!!)
As she slams the door in his drunken face
And now he stands outside
And all the neighbours start to gossip and drool
He cries oh, girl you must be mad,
What happened to the sweet love you and me had?
Against the door he leans and starts a scene,
And his tears fall and burn the garden green
Those two lines mean two different things. I love that about ed's writing.
It's akin to Daughter -- "young girl ... violins(ence)."
for the least they could possibly do
I love that song though, I play it all the time...in fact...gimme a sec im gonna play it...ok, got that outta my system for now. We have a guitar in our office.
I think that song is about accecpting yourself, accecpting the world around you, and finding power in yourself.
when I first heard the lyrics, I fell in love.
like already said, it's about being who you are, all through your life.
I always loved:
The North is to South what the clock is to time
There's east and there's west and there's everywhere life
I know I was born and I know that I'll die
The in between is mine
I am mine
Me, I figure as each breath goes by
I only own my mind
love that line
I agree with you on the 9/11 reference, I think it's an indirect response to trying to move on after something so horrific. I disagree with you on not listening to it, I always do because it has some kind of emotional connection with me.

"Indirect" response? I kind of think of this as PJ's "9-11" song. To me, it is their DIRECT response to 9-11.
