    I’d like to imagine that the band had a dispute about this.  Both Matt and Ed independently wrote songs with the words “long way” in the titles.  And so they had a fight and eventual detente on it.  “That settles it. The band will release the song with the long title.  You release one with the short title.  We’ll see which one is a hit!”

    Gotta be some truth there…
