Is this song really about the pro-choice thing?

If not - what?

If so - how do the lyrics tie into that subject? Or is this Ed's secret?

    So after a search I've got a better idea of people's opinions on this subject.

    Still kinda bugs me though... Like so many others I dig the tune heavily... but I wish Ed wasn't quite so friggin cryptic... but I can also dig the "having to interpret it" angle - good art is often that way.

    If the song IS about abortion and the right to choose - I don't see it.

    It's like reading the bible... you can make it about what ever you want.

    I'm intimate with the song - my band was playing it all over southern Ca. in the first couple years after Ten was released.... I've just never been clear about the meaning...

    Of and BTW - I see that many argue about the "best" version... I'm going with the one from PJ's first SNL show... they tore that shit up!
