Might be #1 in Top Album Sales. Next closest is Mary J. Blige, who got a boost thanks to the Super BowlPost edited by igotid88 onI miss igotid880 -

pledgeagrievance said:Now that EV released this “quickly” and it’s more upbeat and positive, I hope he releases the Out of the furnace stuff. It seemed like even with Uke songs and since he’s hesitant but this earthlings is anything but self-conscious. Just release the music!Hugh Freaking Dillon is currently out of the office, returning sometime in the fall0

After the first couple of listens, it’s pretty disappointing. I’ve never felt that way about anything Ed or PJ have done before, but it’s just… not very good.

It’s a strange feeling that I can’t quite put into words as it’s never happened before. This is the first time that I’ve ever heard a PJ-related album (including all of the solo albums and side projects) and been left feeling completely underwhelmed.
I’ll keep listening and I’m sure some songs may grow on me, but I know I’ll never need hear Picture again.

Tracks 1-6 are my favorites, particularly In The Dark (can't get that one out of my head), Invincible, and Fallout Today. I like Long Way a lot now that the album is out - I wasn't keen on it by itself because I couldn't listen to it over and over again when it was the only song released - the last half of the song is just too repetitive - but it is perfectly great in the album. The Haves is my skip song (It reminds me more of Fatal than of Parachutes, as some folks have said - at least Ed's vocal melody). Good and Evil/Rose of Jericho/Try are alright, but are just not my flavor - I might skip over them too. Picture, Mrs. Mills, and On My Way nicely round out the album. On My Way > Invincible has a Dark Side of the Moon effect where it seems like one song bleeds into the other if you let the album play on repeat, which I have been doing a lot!
I am so glad Ed is continuing to write great music. That long drought from 2013 to 2020 had me worried, but he has really come through with some great tunes here and on Gigaton. Even if the albums aren't consistently great start-to-finish, the good songs are really good.
Three Fish - The Quiet Table was one of my favorite albums of the late 90s/early 2000s. But I cannot get into the first album at all.

I’m solidly in love with this album. I’m a crusty 90s old timer and was a bit worried about the modern producer influence but really find this to be a refreshing rock record. My early favourites are the obvious grungier ones Power of Right and Brother the Cloud, but also really obsessed with Invincible for the Peter Gabriel vibes and Mrs Mills because I’m a huge Beatles fan.I have just finished watching the Bruce and Lowe interviews and now I’m fully on board with Team Watt and can’t wait to see what he will do with the new PJ.0

Right now my favorites are The Dark, Fallout today and Mrs Mills. (I’m not really sure about what the song Mrs Mills is about though, is she like an escort?)0

Mrs Mills is one of the pianos at Abbey Road but I love the idea of Eddie singing a beautifully ornate, Beatles tinged number about a sex worker.Leeds 2006, London 2007, Hartford 2008, London Shepherds Bush 2009, London O2 2009, Dublin 2010, London Hyde Park 2010, Amsterdam 1 2012, Amsterdam 2 2012, Berlin 1 2012, EV solo London 30/7/2012, Berlin 2014, Stockholm 2014, Milton Keynes 2014, Amsterdam 1 2018, London 1 2018, London 2 2018, EV solo Dublin 2019, London 1 2022, London 2 2022, New York City 2022
