Ed has a way

How does he do that?

He writes, then sings these incredible lyrics. Pearl Jam is a door that rests on the rusty hinges that is Ed's writing, I think. The door may fall off it's hinges at any time.

Oh man,

this is so lame.

so I hit

A thread in praise of PJ needs a bump. :)

I think you just confused some people with your rusty-hinge/door comments. ;)

Ed's writing is a rusty hinge? Good metaphor, but wrong I think. Smoke another bowl dude and try again....lol.

Good morning and Hail Hail PJ. :)

Just curious if you think that Pearl Jam is Ed, or that Ed is Pearl Jam... Seems that what you wrote states that Pearl Jam are nothing without Ed.. Forgive me if I mistook you, but if that's what you are saying, I disagree.

    Pearl Jam is Ed's band.

    meh.

    Maybe that's unfair.

I think early on Ed had an Iron grip on it all, so much so that it brought Stone to tears in his assignment to tell Dave A he was no longer needed. They all trusted Ed's instincts early on. He had brought them fame, fortune... So, he was Da Man.

In any case, as the years rolled by...it's hard to think of Pearl Jam without all of them together. I can see that.

I think Ed is Ed and Pearl Jam is Pearl Jam. When they are together they compliment each other in an extraordinary way. It could be because they also go off and do their own thing as well. In other words being the Individuals they are is what makes them who they are today
