Pearl Jam to the rescue!

I've been listening to Pearl Jam for about a year now. I try to listen to some songs (mostly PJ) everyday. It's probably what keeps me sane. Now, sometimes I just can't do it. This weekend I went on a trip with my school, and I couldn't listen to anything for a couple of days. On the night of the 2nd day, during dinner, there's was a radio on, and I heard something that sounded very familiar. It was "Porch". I couldn't believe it. Just when I was about to suffer from music-withdrawl, lol. That trip was really cool, but those seconds of that song, just made my day.
About a month ago, I went to a Bryan Adams concert with my friends, we got in pretty early to find our seats, and a while after that they started playing music. Suddenly, out of the speakers comes "Black". I couldn't believe it. It was an outdoor venue, the sun was setting, it was beautiful. I looked around to see if there was anybody who recognized the song, but there wasn't. I felt like if they played the song just for me.

I love when stuff like this happens!

One time I went with my mom to go look at a new car and BAM! Walk in and Alive is playing on the radio! I could tell no one there was a fan cause they just didn't have that look in there eye, like: "I friggen love pearl jam." And afterwards we went to Applebees at like 8 and Betterman was playing and the place was packed and no one had the look so the song was pretty much all to me.

It's such a different feeling hearing a great song in public and it's even better when no one recognizes it or cares for it. It gives the fan such an imporing feeling.

i went to a marilyn manson concert many years ago, and when we got to our seat, we still had a lot of time before he was scheduled to come out. 'freebird', by skynyrd was playing and i thought "that's an odd song to be playing on the PA at a marilyn manson concert." about 15 minutes later i noticed the song was still playing. now i know it's a longer than normal song, and i was pretty high at the time, but it just seemed weird that it was still on. i said something to my friend about it and he said "they started it over after it ended." huh, i thought. strange. so the song finishes for the second time, and it starts up again. we listened to that song 5 times in a row before there was finally silence from the PA. we were thankful. it's a decent song, but not 5 times in a row. all of a sudden, i hear someone on the other side of the venue scream out "PLAY IT AGAIN!!!!!" 15 seconds later, it starts up again. to this day, i'll leave the room if i hear freebird being played.

I totally agree. A while ago I kindda wished my friends knew Pearl Jam or other bands I like. Now I kindda like to be the only one who recognices the song. Sometimes someone recognices a song and says "Hey, this is that band that you like, right? What was it's name again?"

One time I turned on the radio in the car and Marker in the Sand was on. You have no idea how rear that is where I live. I couldn't help but smile during the whole song.

Around by me, everyone likes Emo/Scremo/Nu-Indie/Bullshit/Core etc, so i am about the only person who knows who Pearl Jam is. I know a lot of you say it's a great feeling when you're the only person who knows the song, but i think it's better when you hear the song come on and someone who you may not even know just perks up and smiles and you know they love it just as much as you do.

That's what I go to the concerts for. :)
