100 Foot Wave

Started episode 1 of this doc miniseries on HBO. Anybody else watching?
McNamara has always seemed a bit standoffish in old interviews I've seen, but watching this, which has more verite footage of the time of those old interviews, it's obvious that he was never really trying to be that way, his focus was just elsewhere.
He's still nutso--I mean, you'd have to be--but he also seems much more present and warm in the present-day footage.
Oh, the Philip Glass score is great, too.

I'm sure of it!
Not only will you see a 100 foot wave; you will notice a tiny dot sliding down it that appears to be human upon closer inspection.
Gnarly!
I'm not gonna lie....that picture excites me.

Also felt that way when I’d peruse High Times
This thing has been so well done.
I read that it was renewed for another season. I'll check that out, but I don't know how that would work.
They had more than 10 years of footage for this season. Maybe an episode that focuses on a specific surfer and their 2021-2022 Nazaré prep/goals/journey/etc.?
And they need to release the score on vinyl already.
