He wore a knit cap, sipped hot tea, and played a jaunty version of Frosty the Snowman. These things happened!

Ditto.  Sad part is - I was downtown that day, could have easily stopped by.

Maybe the short notice is to limit fans traveling, similar to the Foos last year only selling tickets at the box office.
Except we already have the tickets.
Yeah the only logical explanation is that the plans aren't/weren't finalized. Otherwise there is no reason to wait this long.
I think they may still be trying to work out bugs in the fan to fan marketplace. I seriously doubt that they will reassign seats to those who have been holding them for two years, but since some people opted for refunds, there is additional inventory that will need to be handled in some way. Will refunded 10c lottery tix be thrown into another lottery? Will they be thrown into a verified fan presale? We're gonna find out in the "coming days"!

Although this is a very different genre of music, the K-Pop band BTS has a fanclub that people pay for to gain access to ticketing. After the fanclub sales happen, up next are the people who registered for the verified fan sales. Two times so far, EVERY ticket to the shows (LA & Vegas, I believe) were sold in the fanclub sale and there were none left for verified. Now, this happened at two new arenas (their names escape me) so it might have something to do with their contracts, but that is simply unheard of up until now. It used to be a big deal if a fan club got up to 10% of tickets. Now there are verified sales, venue sales, credit card presales etc. so the number of tickets available in a general onsale is dwindling.

We've seen that the verbiage on ticketing pages includes a non working link to verified sales registration for PJ. I rarely get verified, always waitlisted, and my luck in the PJ lottery is dismal. I'm hoping that the fan to fan marketplace will actually work well this time. Every time I tried in 2020, I was beaten by another fan.

Maybe, but I think it much more likely the tour itself wasn't finalized. I think a lot of these nice to have ticketing options won't be had. We'll see.

They could offer TC members unique single use codes to buy tickets prior to VF.

I think Scott Stapp works at Ticketmaster now. It's the only theory that makes all of this make sense.

Bands don't really care about fans travel plans.... that's not their problem.... if you think otherwise you're fooling yourself
When they have arenas 2/3 full they might. They’re also the ones that talk about it in interviews.
This show, another show, a show here and a show there.

Every concession on fan to fan is something that would need to be negotiated with Ticketmaster. It's not really 10c's call.

Agreed. I think it likely many people will be unable to travel this time due to the short notice and high costs.

If that happens this tour, they might think differently. I doubt it will happen this tour.

It's a strange feeling - I almost want this tactic of "wait until the last possible moment to announce a tour" to backfire and for them to play to half-full arenas, but then again, it's Pearl Jam, and I want them to play to packed houses.

It's a different situation, but I bought tickets for a couple of live podcast events recently. The shows have decent fan bases, but I'm pretty sure the Ticketmaster general sale was the first offering. There wasn't a "Verified Fan" Presale, Visa card members didn't get a pre-sale. Consequently, I got what I think are pretty decent tickets for both nights. I don't expect Pearl Jam or any other massive touring group to do that, but it was rather refreshing.

And Nashville is now missing from the list of shows when you go to the Ticketmaster website.  Hopefully that means something will be updated for real soon...
