Thank you guys for being who you are...

Thank you guys for being who you are. Pearl Jam’s music has been one of the most significant companions I’ve had for the better part of my life. It’s been there in the rougher moments but also in the joyful ones, and the other ones as well… I don’t know if the poetry of the words or the vibes of the music touches me the most; it’s probably the synergy of both being so closely and intelligently matched. Your music moves me when I make love with my girlfriend (or made should I say). It fills me up when I drive alone. It floats me when I am around my friends talking, having fun, drinking or smoking. It warms me inside and puts a smile on my face when it plays in my head while I am windsurfing or snowboarding. It overwhelms me when I consider ending my life (or considered should I also say)... I don’t know how you make it possible to communicate so much feelings with so few words and notes. I have to talk for hours to explain something you can express in a single line. I imagine I would have to play for days to touch someone like you touch me with a simple riff (but I don’t play any instrument…). The same song listened at different chapters of my life takes completely new meanings and is always reassuring and coherent. It seems like you’ve known me and I’ve known you for ever. It’s like we’ve talked yesterday about what’s happening in my life and you’re answering me back today, like an understanding friend who uses metaphors to avoid being directive... (and I mean both the words and the music do that…). You give me so much of yourselves (that is so good for myself) that the money I give you for your albums or your concerts is not enough from me to feel even. The only thing I can do to start to give you back one millionth of what you give me is to write you this note and say “thank you!”.
P.S. Promise me that if you stop recording and touring to take some (well earned) time for yourselves (I don’t know why but that’s a fear that stoke me when I went through the pictures and the music play list order of the “Rear view mirror” album), you will send me the tapes of the intimate musical reunions you’ll have once in a while, like old friends in a tavern… Because I think I won’t be able to last very long without new releases from you!
P.P.S. I swear I will keep the tapes for myself, like I never recorded one of your shows or copied any of your CD’s or tapes (because the first time I bought Ten it was a tape that I listen to so many times and at so many different places that one day it stopped playing and I had to buy the CD…) It sounds like I’m getting old but thanks to you I’m still feeling like a kid…). I respect you too much for that!
P.P.P.S. Thanks again and again and again …………………………………….................…………………..................……………………………………………………………...........................…
