Great show - agreed with the above that it was definitely a different set than expected - the ROTC stuff sounded awesome though.  Red Mosquito was epic!

Getting out of town was so bad I had a panic attack and had to go to the police. Phone died with no ubers or taxis. They really need to implement something or build more hotels in town. A shuttle service like ohana even to get u away from the festival.

Hmm unless I lost consciousness for a while, pretty sure Evolution wasn't played.

Anybody got an update on the late night show at the Stone Pony?  I sold my tickets Saturday morning after I saw video from the Friday show at wonder bar… not ready for a tightly packed club with no masks.

So it looks like they played three fewer songs overall than they had planned (they struck five from the original set list including DTE, and played two of the “odd-ibles”).

One thought I had last night is that Eddie looked a bit out of shape. Not trying to be bitchy here - I would be thrilled to be in his shape when I’m 56 - but my first thought when he walked on stage was “Eddie looks like he put on some quarantine weight” (though maybe it was just the shirt). He was extremely chatty during the show, even by his standards, and when he was talking he seemed more out of breath than usual, even just a few songs into the set.

I’ll admit I had no idea who Lenny Kaye was and when I saw him on the video screen I thought Stone had aged 30 years before my eyes.

  • Thought the show was great (as always). For me - QE & 7 o’clock translated best live of the Gig songs.  A bit of rust (to be expected - I think EV joked and said something like “yeah we practiced” during Alive).

I took some heat the other day when I stated on here that I didn’t want to hear any political rants, was even told that I don’t get the band.
While I would have preferred a bit less chatter due to the time constraints I thought EV was on best behavior.  What did bother me was the Bruce story when he basically said that they should’ve given him an “exception” (was the word I believe he used). I’m sorry but celebrity privilege shouldn’t get you out of a dwi.  Let me know how I got this one wrong and how I just don’t get it.

He was well under the legal limit to drive.

Sure, you got it wrong because he wasn’t drunk and merely just accepted a drink. His BAC was at .02 whereas over .08 constitutes intoxication or a dwi.

Eddie should have wanted the police officers to be harder on Bruce and pulled up Sweden as an example on how to do it. Drunk driving kills and the only reason Sweden has it's 0,2 limit is as safety for the driver because of errors in the reading etc. So in reality there is 0,0 limit - as in No drinking.

What stands in stark contrast with America’s attitude toward drinking and driving is that in Sweden, it is not done. There is no, “I just had one beer” or “I can handle it.” If you have had alcohol, you don’t drive. The legal blood alcohol concentration (BAC) limit in Sweden is .02, as opposed to the US and UK’s .08. It’s well known that drivers with a BAC of .05 are impaired, and that fact is not disputed in Sweden, as it is here.

  • Wow - and you guys say I don’t get it.  Bruce’s BAC has nothing to do with the story, it is completely irrelevant.  The message was wrong, sorry.
