what does the phrase "even flow" mean in Even Flow? like, what do those words have to do w/ the rest of the song? i know it's about the homeless, blahblahblah, but those words???????

    i think it kinda has to do with something that's flowing stably.....evenly flowing....kinda of like a river or slow waves.....something that flows like manner....as oppose to torrent waves....or water restlessly flowing. do you know what i mean? that's what i get out of it......the water analogy that could apply to trends....for example.

    Always took that part to be about money, but only because of the dollar bill underneath the lyric notes. Probably wrong though.

    I always thought of it as:

    this homeless guy is on an even flow
    (if not an even keel)
    and his brain just takes things in
    as they come.....and go.

    I'm with red...I think he's saying that this guy just takes things as they come. Although he is so poor he has the most eased mind because he doesnt worry about the small things you and I do...only what to eat and where to sleep. Which, he "rests his head on a pillow made of concrete" so even the beds not a problem. Even flow to me is the same as saying constantly flowing or going with the flow.

    I don't know though I'm not paid to think either
