car trilogy

don't know if there is a thread about this or not...

anyway, we all know the Mamasan songs but what about the driving trilogy.. does it exist or is it all in my head?
RVM
Untitled/MFC
Gone

okay. RVM as we all know is about trying to get away from a person/situation/place you dislike.
MFC to me is about realizing that "THat" place will always be with you and you cannot escape it. "off in the sunset she'll ride/there's no leaving here.."
"there's a lot to be said for nowhere"
Gone (again) to me is about acceptance and bitterness toward this struggle to find youself in a place you hate and longing to get out.

maybe i'm wrong and all these songs have in common is driving. what do you think?

yeah that's true: i think eddie vedder has actually said taht, that those songs are about driving or getting away.

you know what would be interesting.....is because those songs are written in different time periods---to see if there a change in what the author....or is he still driving to get away.....like a reoccuring theme.....or pattern that he's improved upon.
    I need to finish writing.

Yeah I thought he said 5 or 6 songs on storytellers but I only came up with the same 3 you did RVM,MFC,Gone. And if I was really stretching the whole car thing maybe Once & Last Exit only they don't fit the getting/driving away thing really.
    Seems the more you make
    equals the loneliness you get
