Funeral songs

I was asked to pick the music for my brother’s funeral. He took his own life a couple of weeks ago. I have chosen EV’s version of Warren Zevons “Keep me in your heart” and now I am stuck. Colin was 48 and loved a wide variety of music. I am going to skip Chris Cornell as Colin also hung himself. Too close to home I guess.
I can hardly take a deep breath let alone choose the music and write a small eulogy. Thinking about it ends in a headache or ugly tears. I would appreciate any suggestions, Thank you.....k

I‘m so very sorry about your brother!! Keep me in your heart is wonderful! A friend chose Somewhere over the rainbow by Israel Kamakawiwoʻole for her mother’s funeral. It was a beautiful choice.

Thank you, that is a very beautiful and touching song. 2 down, 2 to go. I really do appreciate your help and kind words.0

What about Tears in Heaven by Eric Clapton or What a wonderful world by Louis Armstrong? The last one may not fit the circumstance of your brother’s death. Or it may because you wish he could have seen the world as a wonderful place. It’s just suggestions, I’m sure the songs you choose in the end will be a wonderful tributePost edited by JPPJ84 on0

Thank you. Both great songs! Gives me a good start. Or maybe I will jump a plane to Hawaii and skip it all. My little bro would understand!0

Light Years. I think it is one of the band's very best songs...
