Let's just let Bon Jovi slip on out of here.  Not sure how it stuck around this long!

It was quite popular and there is some casual listening fun to hearing their stuff when you're in the car. I liked their songs, but loathed their popularity, especially among the girls in school. Every girl thought Jon was sooooo hot. And then my wife shared her old CD with our boys and they love it so of course I hear it more than ever. While annoying, it clearly has strong appeal across generations.

Far and away the #1 album as far as how much I have listened....not my choice for #1 but I've heard that album countless times.

Of all these,  Bruce is the one I've listened to the most,  and continue to do so.  My Hometown is a song that makes me tear to this day.  The lyrics are so powerful.   This version with Ed is great.

I threw a vote at The Wall just because everyone else was already voting Slippery BJ and no way I'm going against Thriller or Born.

Born in the U.S.A. is a great record and, of course, widely and largely misunderstood.

Pink Floyd's The Wall just doesn't resonate with me as an 80's album.  IMHO Born in the USA or Thriller is the definition of the 80's.

Absolutely.  It's not rah rah go America.  It's a mostly sad,  but also uplifting tale of America.  Even Dancing in the Dark has very melancholy lyrics.

The record has 12 songs and SEVEN top ten hits!  The only record I can think of that can match that is... Thriller...

    transition time in music.

I believe it stradles both and is therefore timeless
