bobear05bobear05 St. Louis Posts: 742
I have a copy of this that I got about 20 years ago and it’s kind of a purple marble vinyl? Any info on this? I thought it was an original but how do I tell exactly?
any help is appreciated!

Seems kind of odd.  My copy is black.  I don't think I've head of an official color vinyl.  On the flip side vinyl wasn't very popular 20 years ago.. did anyone bother pressing bootlegs back then?

The runout matrix information will pretty much tell you if it is an original pressing.

I know zero about vinyl and believe you are 100% correct.  But this made me curious and wonder...  if you can bootleg a record, has anyone ever faked the runout matrix too or is that not possible?

I have never heard of them going that much into detail for boots, they are just trying to make a quick buck for an inferior good.

Now I have seen people try and engrave RL into old Led Zeppelin II records to try and resell as legit RL pressings.

That would not be an original US or EU. There is a blue vinyl boot on Discogs with the same runout. Which doesn't bode well.

They don't seem in a hurry, but given that facelift just got it's first vinyl reissue of the modern vinyl era, I figure it'll happen eventually.

I would really like it if they put out Alice in Chains Live on vinyl.
