...Life Wasted is my favorite song on "Pearl Jam"/Avacado/the blue album/the new one.

Awesome riff, awesome vocals, pretty strong solo, I love the way Eddie sings it, and it rocks live.
who's with me?

  • Depending on my mood, it would be Army Reserve (oh I am a sucker for those Ament songs..) or maybe Unemployable.

I love the whole damned thing though.

yeah, Inside Job is great but it's SOOOOO much better live. Life Wasted is one of PJ's better uptempo songs. Unemployable is awesome too... but i still think one song that nobody's been talking about that fucking rules is Big Wave. show some respect!!!!!!!!!!!! great rocker and don't you dare say it's a filler song.. you'll break my heart!!
  • ^got me a big wave^ :D

I (still) gotta go with Severed Hand. It has rocked my world since day 1.

The only thing I enjoy is having no feelings....being numb rocks!

And I won't make the same mistakes
    (Because I know)
Because I know how much time that wastes
    (And function)
    Function is the key
  • Ahh! Such a tough call... I think it all depends on my mood. I've been a HUGE fan of Big Wave since day 1. Currently, I'm also really into Gone. I was at Borgata Night 2, so I feel a bit of a personal connection to it.

I was floored when i heard the studio version!

I keep changing my mind though. Severed Hand kicked the crap out of me straight away, and it consistently rocks my socks off. But i'm loving Inside Job right now.

I really hate to say this but i dont like the new album. I like Come Back and Wasted Reprise. For an album that took over a year to make it really should have been better. I think that was the problem..... over a year to make, too much time to think about it. They did Ten in what a couple weeks.
    I'll be back

I don't know all of the words to the new album, and since I'm not going to anymore concerts soon I don't feel the need to learn them. However, when I was going to concerts earlier this year, and trying my best to learn the songs, I really liked Inside Job. I must say, though, that this album is incredible live. I don't ususally think in those terms i.e., good live album, but I think that is the destination of this album, to hear it live. I like Army Reserve and Severed Hand, I like a lot of them because they are so good live. Gone is probably my least favorite on the album. I don't think it's Eddie's voice talking, it's Eddie trying out someone else's voice. This in itself isn't a bad thing as we all try on different types of art to expand ourselves, but it doesn't hit me as well as the other songs.

My 2 faves are MITS and Gone.Comatose,Big Wave and Come Back complete my top 5 on the album. The only tracks I now skip after lots of listens are Life Wasted and especially Army Reserve which has been my the weakest track on the album by a country mile from day one.Great vocals wasted on a truly ordinary/poor effort by PJ standards.

LMAO: I really thought I was the only one to "study" the songs b/4 a concert. My husband told me i was crazy. It is good to know that I am not the only one. thanks
